Upgraded to RMX1000

Hello,

My old PSU,a RM1000 died a couple weeks back. I've had it for a few years,

so I guess it was just its time. I decided to purchase

an RMX 1000 because it was a massive pain to try and find another RM1000.

My question is: Can I just take out the old RM1000 and plug the cables from

it into my new RMX 1000?

Thanks!

Isn't the RM1000 still under warranty? Those PSUs only came out about 7 years ago and originally had a 7 year warranty.

As for the cables: The 24-pin is different in that it has an extra 4 "sense wire" pins. So you'll want to at least swap that cable out.

I'm honestly not sure. Mine came as a part of a pre-build.

I'd probably be more trouble now seeing as I've already got the new one here.

Guess I'll see to swapping that 24 pin out. Thanks alot for the info!

God knows I don't wanna mess around and blow my whole PC up!

Hmm... Good point about the pre-build.

Might as well give it a shot though. Put a ticket in with Corsair support and see if they'll accept your pre-build's receipt as the receipt for the PSU. Then you have a free spare to use some time down the road! :D
