BirdPirch
G'day legends. Yes, the age old question of "Is my ram compatible". Before we get started, I understand there is a QVL list - and if my RAM is not listed on it, then I will most likely have issues. I currently own ram set: CMD64GX4M4C3200C16 Planning to upgrade my system to 10th Gen MATX: MSI MPG z490m On the QVL, CMD64GX4M4C3200C16 is not listed. However, CMT64GX4M4C3200C16 is. The differences? "T" is RGB where as "D" is a white LED, thats the only info I can find. Can someone point out the differences in these chipsets, if there are any? CMD64GX4M4C3200C16 not being listed on the QVL obviously raises concerns, but i literally bought it about 2 months ago and I dont want to have to go through the process of selling the ram at less than what I paid for it etc etc etc. cheers everyone! LeDoyen
QVL is only a list of memory modules that the manufacturer happens to have tested on that motherboard. It's not a definitive list where you run into issues as soon as you ignore it. With Intel you are way less likely to have compatibility issues with RAM so don't sweat it :)
DirtyHarry
As far as I know there is no difference between CMT and CMD.
