ROG Crosshair VIII Hero (WI-FI) and CMW32GX4M2G4000C18

Hi again,

 

i did buy and Intel system a little while ago and have been using this KIT:

 

CMW32GX4M2G4000C18 (2x16GB)

 

Now i will switch to AMD Platform with the:

 

ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Hero (WI-FI) and a Ryzen 9 - 5950X

 

Should i buy

 

CMW32GX4M2Z4000C18

 

or may i still use the

 

CMW32GX4M2G4000C18 ?

 

What is the differenz do i need to make some changes inside the Bios or just enable D.O.C.P ?

DOCP will probably not work with your kit, but it does not hurt to try. You might end up having to reduce the memory ratio a bit, to get it working though.

Just for my understanding, so you mean the Timings for the Intel Kit are more tight/faster, so i should reduce it if it is not working to for example to ~ 3800MHz, correct?

 

I allways thought the Intel timings are the loosener once.

 

Or is the Hardware not the same i thought the different is only the JEDEC Settings. Maybe it is possible to find out what is the difference.

from what I've gathered getting 32GB to run at 4000+MHz is just very hard and heavily depends on the quality of your CPU's IMC and mobo, even if the sticks have that XMP rating. In that regard, it doesn't matter much whether its Intel or AMD.
