yoyoseby
After 2 hours of overwatch my RAM temperature reached almost 50 C...I just wanted to know if it is normal to be so high, or actually if that is even high??? MOBO= Z390 gaming pro carbon CPU = 9700k stock RAM= 3200mhz XMP activated.
c-attack
I would say no under the circumstances. The RAM modules can get into the upper 30s on their own heat with nominal load, so another 10C in a prolonged, heated environment doesn't seem unreasonable. Airflow and spacing likely factor in as well, although since you are still a good 20C under most cautionary marks, I wouldn't get overly concerned about 2-3C here or there. yoyoseby
Thanks...so what would be a temperature that I should fear...what is the max temp a RGB DRAM should not achieve?
c-attack
70C is a common mentioned mark, although you will see a range of 70-85C quoted. You have to factor your case temp into the end number to see if is really abnormal or not, but I think unless you are doing long professional program runs you don't need to be overly concerned. It is most likely you are looking at radiant heat off the GPU coming up between the modules. If that is something that can be addressed by front fan speed pushing the top backplate heat away, you will need to see.
