Hello, new member here since I just installed a Corsair AX760 today in my Dell XPS 8700 Special Edition and I can say that it is a tight fit but all is great here. I just had enough space to put everything together and I do not regret my purchase one bit. About the two small tabs in the case of our Dell, just don't bother with them and just press a little on the new PSU and they will compress. Because the new AX760 is about 1 inch longer in size. Now I am ready to upgrade my video card. I haven't made a final decision yet but I know now that I have the power to run whatever choice i'll made. wowsers
i dont want to bash anybody but this forum is so much better then jonnyguru forums here users are friendly and they explain (dont insult you or team up on you because you dont understand) they assume everybody should or know this stuff they pi***d me off then i came here and i was suprised that nobody insulted me yet cool thanks Well, i'm not a tech Guru either so I can't explain all the advantages of having a particular PSU over the other except that I read a lot of reviews and when I was ready to buy (last week) the AX760 was on sale for $144.99 and I jumped on the occasion and bought it. By the way, i'm in Canada and it was cheaper here than in the U.S. So this is something that us Canadians don't see that often. I know the the AX series is probably not needed in our Dell XP8700 but the price was great and I have no regret buying it since I installed it very easily and don't have that much experience with these kind of things. I just took my time and all went great. Next is a stronger graphic card. And no matter what some can say about Dell, I really like this computer. All my games play well but i'm the kind of person that always want a little more performance so this is why i'm doing these modifications. *Edit* Just a question. Is there something wrong with your EVGA 760? Because you want to replace it with a 770 and i'm wondering why. Thanks.
5104steve
hey im canadian too -Dell xps 8700 i ordered is great and the price i paid to build it myself would cost me alot more so i dont regret my purchased. 2-No nothing wrong with gtx 760 but newegg had gtx 770 for 379.99$ and before the sell there were all 450$ and up so i was thinking about it but instead i decided to put the money for a good power supply too the ax760 ordered last night after reading your post i wanted that one but i wasnt sure if it would fit and you said it fit so yeah we dont really need it but if you want your system to last long we have to put very parts in it right the jonnyguru site told me to put 450W or 550W they kept telling me its enough i dont want to be right at the edge i want room to spare with ax760 i have the power for any gpu or if i want to add another optical drive or hdd or anything and thats what they didnt understand and if you look at there system specs its similar to mind or less and they have power supply 750W or 650W or 850W and yet there telling me 450W or 550W even they told me keep my current psu anyway thank for the help appreciate it

wytnyt
modular means all the wires plug/unplug where conventional psu's have all wiring factory attached,,no theres no connection illustration as it is rather simple...
wowsers
i forgot i never installed power supply is this hard to do I had never replaced a PSU before yesterday and it took me 45 minutes and I really went slow in the process. Just make sure you have a good look at everything before you start and don't force anything. Like I said, it's a tight fit in the XPS 8700 but it fit perfectly. pegotico
is it woth the extramoney over hx or tx 30 to 50$ when you have a 7 year warranty with AX760i Im pretty sure it is worth every penny. The RM750 is 130 and its pretty good also!!
