petasis
Hi all, I have just installed a Corsair Hydro Series H115i RGB Platinum 280 on a Gigabyte X399 AORUS XTREME. However, I was unable to put the usb cable on the pump - it does not fit. In order to fit it, I have to remove the memory stick from the board, but I need my memory. Is there a solution? The usb connector goes up to the middle of the memory stick, so it is not a matter of a few millimeters...
DevBiker
I got a different USB cable to get mine to fit on my x399. I don't recall the exact cable that I got - it was from Amazon and it was a low profile micro USB.
petasis
I cannot find an alternative online. I measured the usb header provided with the kit, it is huge (1 cm the rubber part only, and the micro usb does not fit inside the pump entirely). Is such space (more than 1 cm at the pump side) within specs of TR4 socket? I am trying to figure out if it corsair's fault, or gigabyte's fault. DevBiker
I'm not sure if I used this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ENZDFQ4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 or it's "Down Angled" brother. But that's what I used with my Gigabyte board and my H115. It's tight but it fits. I then had an adapter for the USB connector to the Commander Pro. And, TBH, I think it's Corsair's fault here. petasis
I finally ordered one of these: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Type-C-90-Degree-Right-Angle-USB-C-Fast-Data-Sync-Charging-Charger-Android-Cable/192763057558 It fits, and leaves a tiny space from the RAM. It does not touch the RAM at all. Be careful to order to micro-usb cable, not the usb-c! Now I am only missing a usb to motherboard header adapter... DevBiker
Nice job! And it actually looks cool! Personally, I'm really surprised that they overlooked this. I think it's an issue on the Intel HEDT platform as well, not just ThreadRipper.
