Default H100i V2 not detected by Corsair link

my Corsair H100i V2 cpu cooler is not recognized neither by Corsair link nor by iCUE software.
Power cable is connected to "AIO pump" on motherboard, USB cable connected to "USB 2".
I tried to re-connected on Win10 running live - no luck.

As for the Win10 device manager - it says there is just "unrecognized USB device" with yellow triangle. It doesnt even recognize it as "USBXP corsair driver", as Ive seen in other people's complaints.
I tried to delete this unrecognized driver - no luck either, shortly it appears the same.

Also the mob forces the AIO top 2 fans to run at max speed right from the booting sequence.
Thus Im not sure if the AIO pump works correctly at all, sinice the CPU temp quickly gets to 80-100C, at 8% cpu load - just on Windows10 idle running.
The top radiator feels cool. Fans blow inwards.

How to know if my AIO pump is alive at all?
And how to make Corsair link or iCUE see my H100i? Is H100i adequate at all to cool i9 9900k ??

mob: asus maximus hero xi
cpu i9 9900k
cpu cooler: H100i V2
