I'm still working with the firmware and SSD teams to see what's going on. I'll keep this thread updated as information comes in. Can everyone please try to update the firmware through SSD toolbox? 11.2 should be available. If it's not, please share screenshots of your drive information. Thank you!

Thank you. I'm collecting data to see if we can pinpoint the cause. So far, it seems a bit random.

Kevin,

I am probably not speaking for everyone, but I have just confirmed that the drive performs as expected when formatted. Only after I install windows do I see the drop in performance. What am I missing here? Any ideas? Please let me know.

Thanks!

Has anyone tried running Atto Disk Benchmark? I'm getting some really wierd results on write speeds which may shed some light on things... The speeds seem to be oscillating... Goes proper speed for a bit, then drops, and repeats... I'll post a screenshot of this when I get home. Atto gives several measurements at various block sizes, which provides more granularity than the basic "one number" output CDM gives...

I ran the test several times in sequence with hwinfo updates @ 500ms intervals and temps never went above 52C, averaging 47C.

Note that Run #1 and #4 are the exact same settings, but there is crazy variance in performance from one test to the next.

If you can run atto, please post your results here

Yeah, that's pretty much what I am experiencing as well. Interesting results from the 16Gb test. There was speculation earlier that CDM read test was causing the drive to heat up, and thus a possible throttle situation during the write portion of CDM. However with Atto, it performs the write test before the read test, but the speed variance only shows on write performance. Read speeds remain unaffected... I will run the 16gig test myself later, and I will be monitoring the temps while I do it.

EDIT: I added my 16G test, temps were still fine. 50C or less

Tweak Town just released a new review of the 2tb MP600 here which they ran several different benchmarks including atto, which gave them perfect results. They claim that the benchmarks were done with the drive at 50% capacity, and according to their ssd toolbox screenshots they are also using fw 11.2. I'm going to be reaching out to them to see if they can replicate these issues.

For everyone experiencing performance issues with the MP600, at this point, I would highly suggest RMA'ing your units. Visit http://www.corsair.com/support and start a ticket. Please title your ticker "MP600 FORUM RMA" and also include this in the ticket notes as well. I personally want to see the issue resolved, and this is the fastest way to do so. This will allow us to receive the units, test them firsthand, and hopefully determine what the issue is.

Hi Kevin!

Sorry, but this is not an option for me. I unterstand that you want to test the units, but the SSD is in use and i need my PC for work. If you send me another SSD before, i could send my SSD to you?

Hi John, when you start the ticket, in the notes just mention this and the support staff can help you set up what's called an Advanced RMA. They will require a credit card number just to put a hold for the amount of a new SSD on it and we'll send a unit to you before you send yours in. You'll have some time to clone your current drive to the new one (or do a fresh install, which is what I'd recommend), and then send the other unit in for failure analysis. The hold will be released on your card, and all will be good in the world (I hope. :))

While i dont have performance issues with my MP600 2tb i find it very hit n miss under pci-e 3.0, im currently running an i7 7700k on an Asus z270a, my primary drive is a Samsung 970pro 1tb and my mp600 is in my second nvme slot, in addition to these drives i also run a Samsung 850 evo 2tb and a Sandisk ultra II 960gig dds.

Ive been running dual nvme drives for over a year and the mp600 is the 3rd drive in the second slot that ive tried but ive never had the issues i haver atm, issues range from drive dissapearing from my desktop to corrupt files and inaccessible folders, usually the issues disapear after a reboot but soon return after accessing the drive for a few minutes, as i said this is the 3rd drive ive used with this setup so i know this is an issue with the drive.....maybe its just not stable under pci-e gen 3, also Icue shows the mp600 idling at 33c....pretty much the same as my Samsung 970pro.

My mp600 is only used for games.

Hi

- BitLocker is ENABLED using the new AES-XTS encryption method

What does "using the new AES-XTS encryption method" mean?

It means:

BitLocker with enabled hardware encryption built in MP600 drive?
