Baoss Posted April 24, 2013 Share Posted April 24, 2013 Hi guys, I got the M17X with 6 GB of RAM and stock it was a ram stick of 4 GB + 2GB. As an aftermarket, I bought the 16 GB (8GB x 2) Corsair Vengeance CMSX16GX3M2A1600C10 and somehow when I put one 8 GB stick it's fine but when I try both sticks it says 16 GB (2.XX GB Usable) and I get BSODs from web surfing (but somehow can game for hours). I tried putting each of the two sticks, one at a time and they work singularly as 8 GB (7.88 GB Usable). My BIOS version is A11 (official one). Can anyone explain what's happening? peanutz94 Posted April 24, 2013 Share Posted April 24, 2013 Did you reset the BIOS prior to inserting the new memory? Sometimes the setting from the previous modules will get stuck and a reset of the BIOS will flush those out and allow the memory to run correctly. It's worth a shot.
