USB detection for Corsair 100i RGB Pro

Hello,

My issue seems to be that I actually can't detect the USB device for the H100i pump. I run a ASUS Maximus IX HERO motherboard and have just installed a Corsair H100i RGB pro liquid cooling system.

Windows did update recently and the Microsoft notes didn't make reference to any USB issues (that i could see), currently my system is up-to-date wrt Windows 10 Enterprise 1909 Build 18363.900

After installing the new 100i unit, I removed the Corsair 4 link software, I had installed for a previous cooler, and installed the iCUE, this software showed no devices detected. I have removed the iCUE software and reinstalling Link 4, within the Link 4 software I can see that I have 4x fans, and their respective rpms, but no 'pump' from the H100i is shown.

I have had a bit of a poke around on this forum and followed the the advice given in the following posts:-

https://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=172479

The CPU Q-Fan Control is now "Disabled" within the BIOS, and the Fans for the H100i, are running very fast, at 4700rpm, while the other 3x fans are 'silent' at 500rpm. I have the 'single-wire' (part of the SATA cable) plug connected to CPU-Fan pins on the motherboard (manual page 1-2, section 3, diagram), there are a number of possible "fan" connections to use, I am using the CPU_FAN pins.

I don't know where (within Link4 or other software) I can reduce the speed of the Radiator Fans, down from 100%?

I had a look at the following post(s) for the USB detection,

https://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?p=993272 and

https://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=185156&page=2,

but it didn't help.

I don't believe I'm actually seeing a USB device, for the pump. Even when connecting the USB controller to an external USB slot (using a mini-USB cable to a port outside the case) the pump isn't detected.

If the external USB slot is USB3, is it backward compatible to pick up the USB device of the pump (the installation notes says the pump is USB 2)

The Pump is illuminated and looks like s strobing rainbow disco ball

Hope this forum can assist.

Cheers

As a little more information, the H100i pump isn't discovered with the BIOS, the place I suppose it would be seen have N/A as the result.

Are these USB devices detected automatically by the BIOS?

Cheers

  • 1 month later...

Hello,

I contacted Corsair support, after re-installing the iCUE software still without the CPU-Cooler not being detected. Corsair organised a replacement Unit, this new unit was installed and detected straight away. So my issue was obviously a unit that was DOA.

Thank you

Andrew
