tistou77
Hello Corsair has not planned a Dominator Platinum kit with the Samsung B-Die? 4x8GB 3200mhz 14-14-14 for example Thanks
emissary42
Check out the Corsair Dominator Platinum SE, they are available as 4x8GB with DDR4-3200 CL14 specs and are B-Die afaik.
tistou77
I've seen these kits but with the Samsung B-Die the timings are at 14-14-14 and not 14-16-16 (these new Platinum kits are at 14-16-16) Thanks
emissary42
The XMP timings are whatever the manufacuterer decides to program them to. Even with tRCD=tRP=16 they are still B-Die, at least those that i saw were ;)
tistou77
Ok thanks I already have a Dominator kit that runs at 3200 14-16-16 (Samsung D-Die or E-Die may be) and I'm looking for a kit with the B-Die at 14-14-14, so Corsair preferred to put the XMP at 14-16-16, I Do not risk to buy it and it does not go to 3200 14-14-14 and 1.35v :) With other brands and the Samsung B-Die, the kits run at 3200 14-14-14 (1.35v) or 3400 14-14-14 (1.40v) for example
emissary42
In my home forums i have seen 4x8GB Corsair Domintor Platinum SE Memtest Pro stable at DDR4-3200 13-13-13 on X99 with only a slight bump in Vdimm. Even for B-die that is pretty solid and other than that tightening the tRCD/tRP from 16 to 14 takes like 5 seconds in the UEFI with the right type of IC under the heatspreader =) My old Hynix MFR based Vengeance LPX were rated for DDR4-2800 16-18-18 1.20V and DDR4-3000 16-18-18 1.35V, but easily could do DDR4-2800 15-15-15 1.20V and DDR4-3200 15-15 or DDR4-3333 16-16-16 both at 1.36V. So in general i think Corsair just took a more conservative approach to speccing the tRCD/tRP of its kits. Edit: There is one exception though --> CMK32GX4M4B3600C16R with your typical B-Die timings at that ratio, so maybe just get these if you can't trust me on my words
tistou77
Currently I have the kit 3733 17-19-19 that I run at 3200 14-16-16 at 1.37v (Samsung D-die I think) For your, this kits have Samsung B-Die and can run at 3200 14-14-14 (~1.35v) ? cmd32gx4m4b3600c16 cmd16gx4m2b3200c14 If it is B-Die, it will be the same for these 2 kits for frequency / timings ? What makes me hesitate about the capacity of these kits is why Corsair made kits 3600 16-16-16 and others at 3600 16-18-18, so the 2 kits have the B-Die Better sorted on the kit 3600 16-16-16 ? Thanks for your help :) PS: Platinum SE are not available in Europe, I believe PS2: You have the Platinum SE test link at 3200 13-13-13 to see the different timings
emissary42
What makes me hesitate about the capacity of these kits is why Corsair made kits 3600 16-16-16 and others at 3600 16-18-18, so the 2 kits have the B-Die. Better sorted on the kit 3600 16-16-16? At DDR4-3600 with timings of 16-18-18 it can use several different types of ICs and that is probably also the reason why they went with those specs in the first place. If they tighten the timings down to a point where only a single IC type can clear them, they risk having to discontinue the model once that IC is no longer in production/available (less than a year sometimes), if no replacement with comparable scaling characteristics ever gets made. So in comparison the CMK32GX4M4B3600C16R and similar kits from other manufacturers might have to be discontinued when Samsung moves on from 8GBit B-Die to another die, while the CMD32GX4M4B3600C16 might just get some new IC bin instead. Platinum SE are not available in Europe, I believe No, they are or were available at least. However as a limited edition you can only get them from Corsair directly, like the CMGTX series before them. Just go the Corsair Shop for your country and check availability of the model you are interested in. Some might be sold out already, since from the press release the total stock was only 500 pieces each worldwide. You have the Platinum SE test link at 3200 13-13-13 to see the different timings (This is not my own screenshot.)
tistou77
Ok thanks So nothing certain Platinum SE are not available on shop in Europe, only in the US Store But I prefer to order (other kits than the SE) in Europe, if it's not B-Die, I can send them back
emissary42
Well as a fellow European i did check availability while writing my post and found them available... but maybe that is different for some EU countries? I have the links for these in my bookmarks: 1) http://www.corsair.com/de-de/dominator-platinum-se-32gb-4-x-8gb-ddr4-dram-3200mhz-c14-memory-kit-chrome-cmd32gx4m4c3200c14c 2) http://www.corsair.com/de-de/dominator-platinum-se-32gb-4-x-8gb-ddr4-dram-3200mhz-c14-memory-kit-blackout-cmd32gx4m4c3200c14m
tistou77
I had seen, but they only deliver in Germany ;) And the English store returns to the US page
tistou77
I wanted to see to order the Dominator Platinum SE kit on the German Shop, which is cheaper than on the US site (359 € against 439 €) Yesterday I could put this kit in the basket and today I am redirected towards the shop US I will not pay 439 € on the shop US, while it is 359 € on the German shop
tistou77
I tested this kit cmd32gx4m4b3600c16, it's the B-Die I have the kit Dominator Platnium SE 4x8Go and I assume that the chips were better sorted on the first kits, with this one, I have done the same thing as the old kit (the one above), 3200 14-14 -14-28 1T to 1.35v, not possible to make 3200 C13 Or know what tensions he put exactly for the VDIMM and VCCSA
