i too have a H115i Platinum that refuses to show in iCUE. I have tried iCUE from 3.15.101 up to 3.18.77

H115i Platinum shows GREEN in USBDeview.

I have done complete uninstall of iCUE and CCleaner and appdata folder removal.

Nothing i have done gets the H115i Platinum to show. I believe its a bricked unit due to firmware issue.

Can i manually update the firmware with a batch command or command prompt?

How I have restored a bricked H115i Platinum:

I have bought already unpacked Corsair H115i Platinum.

I have a lot of luck - I have tried it for the first run without installation on CPU.

I was very surprised, that the pump is not detected in the latest version of Corsair iCUE (3.18.77)

The pump was stable light blue (later ackowledged that it was Firmware v.1.01.15). Also USB driver was every 30s restarted in device manager - H115i Platinum.

I have found on the forums and internet, that corrupted firmware update can be acknowledged regarding to the light blue stable color of pump.

I have contacted the seller if he can replace my corrupted pump.. he send me a new one, which was completely functional.

After connecting a new working pump(it was detected in iCUE) and set up all settings - tried that RPMs are changing, colors etc.. i send my pc to hibernation.

During hibernation i have changed the pump with the old one (with corrupted firmware).

After turn the pc back on - from the hibernation i was surpised, that the pump was detected - but still the pump color was light blue

and RPMs cant be read or set.. but i have click on the firmware update -> and force firmware update to the same version v.1.01.15.

After few seconds - firmware reflash finished - pump restarts automatically and now is fully responding and detected..

Maybe Corsair should allow to reflash firmware wihout iCUE...

Same thing just happened to me with my brand new h100i. Firmware update must have failed, pump and fan lights are off, fans spinning at full speed, and the Windows Device Manager keeps detecting/removing something every few seconds. iCue no longer recognizes or lists the h100i at all, and I can't figure out a way to force a firmware update by command prompt. The geniuses at Corsair apparently made iCue the only way to do so.

Total fail, system now dead in the water until I can return/exchange this garbage. Awesome.

Actually you are pointing your finger placing blame at the wrong company, trust me I have been in your shoes and did the same exact thing. Turns out it's ASMedia USB 3.1 drivers to blame and I can bet you probably have an ASMedia USB driver in your system don't you? And all hope is not lost and there is a way to recover from this as I have and you know what, my pump is still running to this very day no thanks to one of the wonderful members of the Corsair team for reaching out to me personally and helping me fix this issue. Why this hasn't been posted in the forum is beyond me but it should be and I will reach out to that member and ask him to make this fix available for everyone with this issue to fix it and have their system back up and running! So until then if you want to know what that fix is message me personally at least until I know it's ok to post the fix in this thread.

(SOLVED) I finally managed to unbrick my H115i Platinum RGB !!!

It bricked during firmware update via iCue. RGB turned off, fans went full throttle, and the pump stopped. The usual recipe. It wasn't easy to fix, but works better than taking it out to send it for warranty/repair.

Imma give you the steps, and i hope as many people see this.

1. Search your C: drive for a "H115_Platinum" .hex file. It's a longer name, but you can find it by searching like this. Copy the file to a handy location, like Desktop for example, and rename it to leave only "H115_Platinum_version number.hex"

2. Restart windows in safe mode (F4 option during recovery startup).

3. Make sure none of the Corsair processes did not start, if so, CTRL+SHIFT+ESC and close them.

4. Go to Services (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC -> Services -> Open Services) and DISABLE the Corsair Services. (3 of them)

5. Go to Corsair installation folder (C:/program files...) and locate the following application (do not open it!) XMCBOOTLOADER.EXE.

6. DRAG AND DROP the .hex file from step 1 over the XMCBOOTLOADER.EXE. The app should now connect to the bootloader, and force push the firmware upgrade.

If you get an error during first time, do not panic! For mine, it worked on 3rd try! Reboot safemode, make sure all the processes and services from corsair are ended/disabled.

When it will work, unicorn barf will light up instantly, and the fans will go to quiet mode.

ALSO, when you want to upgrade the firmware via iCue (very risky), do it in safe mode!

Some processes interfere with the connection between the AIO and iCue (HWInfo, Steam, Logitech control app)

Also, if I may thank you for the tremendous support that Corsair provides! (NOT!) I waited for 1 hour and 15 minutes to get an operator on the phone (Romania to US toll), and i closed the line since I got not answer! Either get a decent chatbot or hire more operators guys... OR build decent software!

Hey huskyuk,

thanks for taking time and post your solution.

Somehow it does not show me a hexfile, could be because i reinstalled icue plenty of times and also cleared all folders.

i wonder if there any site where we can download the firmware update manually?

I am already writing with the customer support, but even as there are many people with this issue, they don´t seem to be aware of this. After 3 mails i am now forwarded to a cooler specialist... and every mail is 3 days of waiting.

It´s quite sad because i was really satifsfied with their hardware so far, but the support and software is "special"

Also crazy that there is no official statement in any of these threads.

If it wasn't for Michael May the Technical Marketing Specialist- North America who personally reached out to me first in a personal message then after giving him my personal email address by direct communication via email with really fast response times and he even answered some of my questions after hours. First we had to isolate the common problem that users where having then isolate the hardware we all had in common.seems that ASMedia USB 3.1 and ASMedia USB 3.0 drivers were at fault for this potentially costly issue, and not just costly for the consumer but for Corsair themselves had they had to replace any hardware damaged from overheating due to a defect in the drivers between Corsair's hardware and software and ASMedia drivers and hardware. Corsair has attempted to reach out and get in touch with ASMedia to work on a permanent solution so that not another consumer like you or I had this issue rear its ugly head again. Turns out ASMedia has no interest in communicating with Corsair to fix the issue and now that ASUS MSI and most other major motherboard manufacturers have dropped ASMedia they will likely feel the pinch in all that loss of revenue. So when Micheal and I figured out the issue he got in touch with the engineering team there at Corsair and they came up with this solution.... [ame]https://youtu.be/oW9C8fxU72U[/ame] now as for the firmware I'd upload mine to google drive to share it with you but i am not 100% sure what cooler you have but if you reach out to Corsair via their help desk and tell them you need the firmware for your said cooler they will provide it to you. Pass it on to anyone willing to stop being so pissed off at Corsair for ASMedia being the **** up. I also suggest using laptop or another computer that is sitting right next to the system with the pumps and fans in it and just use a longer if you need to micro USB to USB cable and do not use a USB 3 or higher port. follow the instructions in the YouTube link that I provided and you should be back up and running in less than 20 minutes or so. If you have further problems message me back so I can go through the procedure with you and make sure you covered all of the bases. My pump has been running fine for almost a year now with no more issues. I hope this helps get you back on your feet!

Hey guys,

Same issue over here. I updated the firmware on my H115i Plat and it failed, but still worked, kinda. Contacted Corsair and they told to me to do a fresh install of ICUE, which I did. They gave me an older version and I tried to update the firmware on it once again, this time it completely bricked the unit. Fans go at 100%, RGB is non existent and I am now getting a cpu fan error. Pump still works however.

So here I am, I had to resort to letting the GPU control the fans but now awaiting a response from Corsair, who will hopefully provide me with a firmware to reflash or something of the like. Why has a fix not been issued a year later? I guess ASMedia is not interested in Corsair's problems or the problems of the customers.

Perhaps you should try using the fix in the post right above your post..... As for why this hasn't been fixed well you'll have to contact ASMedia and ask them why.... It's not a Corsair problem it is an ASMedia problem

I am aware of the fix in the video, however, I need a firmware with which to flash. Corsair can take many days to respond to the issue and maybe a week or two as they will probably need to forward me to someone who knows what they're doing.

Managed to get it working through the method above thank goodness. It works perfectly now. The only thing is it gives a USB disconnect sound once in a while.

While your pump was connected to the other computer did you make sure to check again for a firmware update and on the PC you are using the pump on did you make sure your USB drivers are 100% up to date?

Yep, firmware is up to date and USB drivers are latest. Don't know if ASMedia USB drivers (my motherboard drivers) have anything to do with that problem.

Hey guys,

I'm in the same boat. Firmware update crashed and my H115i is no longer being detected in ICue.

I was wondering if anyone knows where I could download the firmware to use when implementing MGTs fix.

There is an existing ticket but I don't think I'll get a response till next weekday.

Hoping that you guys can end my frustration.

Thanks!

EDIT: Cooler is H115i Platinum

I was planning to buy this AIO but this is very discouraging, because the same thing happen to my H100i almost 4 or 5 years ago, this one:

https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Liquid-Cooling/Dual-Radiator-Liquid-Coolers/Hydro-Series™-H100i-Extreme-Performance-CPU-Cooler/p/CW-9060009-WW#tab-downloads

I love Corsair, but they need to implement some kind of fail-safe in their Hidro Series.

I'm yet another one who made the mistake of clicking update on the H115i Platinum's firmware without checking online to see whether it might be a disaster first.

Firmware update failed, pump LED off, fans up to 100%, H115i Platinum no longer detected in iCue (but does show up in USBDeview).

Don't suppose anyone can point me to a downloadable firmware for the H115i Platinum so I can try updating it manually?

Very strange... I moved the internal usb connection from port 1314 to port 1112 and that seemed to have made a difference. No more disconnect sound or funny rgb flickers. Not sure what's up

How did you make this port change? I have the same problem here. My H115i keeps blinking and disconnecting.

This just happened to me today after I did a firmware update. Fans at 100% pump still running but nothing is detected in iCUE. I had an issue in the past and it happened again this morning where all the sudden while in a game the coolant temp increased way higher than normal then my fans went to 100%. Coolant temps then came back down to normal but fans stay at max rpm. What fixed it the last time this happened was a firmware update but this time that did not fix a problem and made the issue worse. I've tried different usb hubs on motherboard and reinstalled iCUE with nothing working. All i get is the device disconnect and reconnect sound every 30 seconds or so

Ive had a similar experience with the H100i series, firmware appears to be have been my downfall as well, i have however still got my fans and pump running as normal but they are run through a commander pro, guessing that may be a key difference to some other builds here ? Still 0 rgb's active though..
