chad27
I have Corsair rgb pro 3000mhz memory installed. The docp profile in bios states 15-17-17-35 ,but cpuz shows 16-17-17-35. Is this normal? thanks for any help as im new to this. Edited April 15, 2020 by chad27
emissary42
It is normal if you are a Ryzen user and Gear Down Mode is enabled in BIOS, because that will result in all uneven CAS latencies to get rounded up to the next even number.
chad27
Ok, I not sure about a gear dowm mode however I do plan on using dram calc etc to find optimum setting etc maybe that will help to a degree.
chad27
Is there a way to turn it off? Would it create issues?
emissary42
Disabling GDM in BIOS can impact stability at higher memory ratios. You can test if your system can handle the XMP with GDM off, since DDR4-3000 is still pretty moderate, but stability testing is recommended afterwards. chad27
Thanks for the clarification. I turned it off then ran mem test no errors. Geardown on by default?
