One at a time please.

Naah. If you can't change the LED colors but can change the fan speeds then I suspect the red and green LEDs have died. RMA?

i'm assuming some of the colors went bye, but i want to wait until the next firmware update just in case it's some sort of software bug.

That would be interesting to see. After all the units RMA'ed through faulty LEDs.

LEDs are basically indestructible. i can't fathom them burning out this quick.

Not necessarily the LEDs themselves. In these days of massively miniature probably the driver transistors that have failed, or something in the communication chain. We'll probably never know the true cause, but can sit here quite happily throwing assumptions around all day.

when im in doubt,i just blame it on an imbalance in the muffler bearings.

Just bought a H80i. The pumps and fans of the Hydro Link2 don't show. They did once but not anymore. Tried everything in the posts. Using W8. The device is shown as "Intergrated USB Bridge" in the Control Panel. I checked the Hardware Id's HID\VID_1B1C&PID_0C04&REV_0200 and HID\VID_1B1C&PID_0C04

When trying to update the driver, Windows says the best is already installed.

This is really annoying. What happened to plug and play?

Any progress from Corsair on this?

The software does not support Windows 8 officially.

Things you can try
Is Sierra2Service running?
Have you tried running the program as admin?

Hello Toasted,

Sierra2 Service was running, and ran as admin. It's curious that the pump and the two fans did appear once though. I just got my rig back yesterday; the H80i was tested by my local computer store and confirmed to be A-OK and with temps in the 60C at full load.

I remember unplugging and replugging the fan/pump connector at the top of the water block but I don't recall touching the USB link.

The dedicated HID in Device Manager did show some problems at one point, but I uninstalled the driver & rebooted and it was back. I just can't get the Link2 to recognize the pump and fans.

Delete the Profiles folder and sierra2_ui.cfg from %Appdata%/Corsair then unisntall the software and install a older version of the software e.g. 2.1.7.

Does it detect the pump and fans?

I've been trying to get my H80i to be recognized too, but I've not succeeded until now.

I went through the entire thread and basically tried removing the "Unknow device" in Device Manager and rebooting my PC until it recognized the device correctly, but that did not work at all.
I even tried changing the USB connection between the two avaiable in my motherboard, but that also did not work.

Tried different versions of Corsair Link, but since the device is not even recognized, it doesn't seem like that will solve my problem.
During Corsair Link 2 intallation, even if I accept the drivers installations, they do not get recognized.

I see that's a problem with the drivers, specifically. I really don't mind updating my firmware or not, I just wanted the cooler to be properly recognized in the Device Manager and Corsair Link.

Have you tried plugging the H80i using a mini-B to type A cable?

I will try these on Monday, since today no shops are opened here in Brazil.
Hope that works!

Do you have the Windows 8 drivers installed for the Chipset and USB Controller on the MB? If not you will have to do before this will work.

Yeah, I sure do. All my other USB ports work fine, including 3.0 on the front and back of the case.
