steve_m
I have an HX 750 power supply. I'm getting ready to build a new computer. On the HX 750 there are 5 "6+2 PCI-E & 4+4 CPU" sockets. I'm confused about what connections go where. Is it okay to connect the 8-pin CPU power connector to any of the 5 sockets? My video card has one 8-pin power connector. Can the video card be connected to any of the "6+2 PCI-E & 4+4 CPU" sockets? This is only my second computer build and I want to make sure that I don't fry anything by using the wrong connection. Thanks in advance.
Corsair Employee Corsair Notepad Posted June 20, 2019 Corsair Employee Share Posted June 20, 2019 First of all to clarify some things the HX750 only has 4 PCIe/CPU connections on the power supply. You are able to connect only the CPU and PCIE cables to these connections on the PSU. It does not matter which of these four ports you plug the CPU power and PCIE power cables into as they are the same on the PSU end.
steve_m
Thanks for your reply. Weird, the product page on NewEgg (where I bought the PS) shows 5 connectors. But when I checked my actual HX750, there are only 4. At any rate you've been a big help.
