your lucky you were able to install the new firmware, mine just fails each time i try then i need to replug in the keyboard because it diappears from icue.

this man speaks the truth ^ complete waste of money this keyboard, so many problems, like above i suffer from the windows controller screen freezing so i cannot adjust my G29 settings, i suffer game hangs on startup when any other controller is plugged in, i suffer the caps lock light being stuck on, icue shows i have a firmware update for it but it fails and then disappears from icue so i need to get up and under my desk to pull it out and plug it back in. utterly sick of it wish id stuck to logitech tbh. spent over £1000 on all my corsair products and this keyboard and the support for it really let it all down.

i dont want to tempt fate here but my k55 has been working perfectly since i saw a fix on another thread. it suggested holding fn + alt + f4 and the keyboard would flash twice. i did this around 3 weeks ago and havent experienced any problems since after 2 years of constant problems with games taking ages to load, steam failing to open and the caps and num lock lights failing to work. this problem can also be caused by the asus xonar software for their soundcards. there will be 2 instances of hsmgr application running, one for the sound and one for the dsp, disabling the dsp instance solves the problem although you then cant use dsp effects from the soundcard.

can confirm this also works for the problem of when the caps lock and num lock keys stop working

I wouldnt hold out much hope of this getting sorted, its clearly a very common problem with the K55 keyboard that so many people have posted about and corsairs reply is "its steams fault not ours" even after being told countless times it happens without even having steam installed. also cannot see the thread you linked too, most likely if it does show a solution then corsair will have locked it as they wont want to be proved wrong now after 2 years of blaming steam. here are a couple of threads that have been going a while and still no resolution yet corsair continue to sell the keyboard. http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=173987 http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=171318

no hope of them fixing this issue, they continue to sell a defective product and when anyone asks in the forums they blame steam even when clearly told it happens without steam running. customer support is next to non existant even after so many people having the same problems.

i get a few of your problems with mine... icue will recognise it on a restart but randomly it just wont pick it up which coincides with the caps lock light not functioning. this behavior also coincides with games taking ages to load and causing problems with any controllers connected. i think something driver related to the keyboard is crashing and icue then doesnt recognise the keyboard, when this crash happens the caps lock light doesnt function and games take ages to load and it also causes the problem with controllers. if the driver/service doesnt crash everything is fine with icue, caps lock light, games and controllers.

this problem is still happening now, its a complete joke that corsair blame steam for this when its clearly a fault of the keyboard and hid drivers. i too have purchased the full array of corsair products and if this isnt fixed and i need to use a diffrent keyboard then it will be the last corsair product i purchase.

I'm another user of the K55 and have problems with Steam and Assetto Corsa and also the Windows controller screen freezing. I pulled my hair out for months with this problem and it ended up its been the K55 causing my problems all along.
