The only thing that is live is +5VSB and that's only one pin on the 24-pin connector.

I also suggested it because the PSU can handle four SATA on a cable. That's why they offer that cable.

Way better than using adapters.

The CX500M has three ports for SATA cables.

It comes with two SATA cables. One has three connectors. The other has two connectors.

So that's 5 SATA drives total...

OCP is a safety that prevents the PSU from delivering too much current in the event of a short. e.g. a short creates a low resistance load...

I think that is unusually loud.

Are you in a country that uses 115V or 230V?

May just be a lack of lamination on the PFC choke coil, but usually I only hear that at high mains voltage (230V).

I have the STRIX RX 5700 XT personally and it has a 6-pin and 8-pin (the stupidly wide one with the three fans). It works...

Do you have the really small zip-ties? What I tend to do is pull the pig-tail PCIe cable down out of the way and zip tie it so it can't be seen.

The original "80 PLUS Gold" version had a single 12-pin that split into two 6+2-pins.

We can't assume OP is using all new parts.
