I think that complete lockups are almost always memory related. Especially if you get errors in memtest. Just my .02.

Hey RAM GUY,

I'm building a new computer. I've got everything except the memory. I looked on the memory configurator and the motherboard is not listed. It's an EVGA Classified3, #141-GT-E770-A1....

Does that board have a "mem OK" button? It may be trying to set up the memory itself. If so I think the only way you can stop that is to shutdown, turn off power supply and clear cmos.

You could try setting cpu volts to 1.25 also. I think that board sets cpu volts to 1.2 which is the minimum for that board and kinda low for that processor.

Try setting everything manually. 9-9-9-24 @ command rate 2N with 1.25v qpi/dram and 1.65v dram. Maybe peanutz94 or Synthohol can chime in here. They are helpful.
