How to use shift to launch an application or macro

Hi,

 

I am trying to figure out how I can setup a key combo press to fire off launch application or a macro - I see you can assign a key or mouse button to do this however I don't want to tie up a key or button solely for this purpose. What I would like to do is have say calculator launch when I press numpad 0 while holding left shift, or launch a macro by pressing numpad1 while holding left shift - this way I can still use the original keys.
