  1. CORSAIR RMx SHIFT power supplies mix things up by moving the connectors to the side of the power supply, allowing for easy-access to the new Type-5 connectors and freeing up space for other accessories such as dedicated hard drive cages in your case! That said, not all cases have enough space for this as they were designed for a more traditional power supply layout. So we've put together a quick guide for those considering an RMx SHIFT for your next build! RMx SHIFT requires an unobstructed PSU chamber and at least 30mm of clearance between the connector-side of the PSU and the side panel to allow for the connectors on the cabling to be inserted and routed appropriately. In addition, RMx SHIFT uses smaller Type 5 micro-fit connectors which are incompatible with previous generation Type 3/Type 4 cables. Finally, if you're planning on upgrading to an RTX 40-Series card, we've included the 12VHPWR cable with each RMx SHIFT power supply so you can keep a clean build without using an adapter! What are your thoughts on the RMx SHIFT lineup? Have you built with one already? Let us know in the comments!

  3. NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 40-Series family of graphics cards have grown with the launch of the RTX 4070 Ti, offering performance that surpasses the previous generation GeForce RTX 3090 Ti while requiring roughly half the power. If you’ve been on the fence about building a new gaming PC or upgrading your existing one, now is a great time to jump in and we're here to help you make some moves. Prepping for Power Think your PSU might need an upgrade? The GeForce RTX 4070 Ti is reported by NVIDIA to hit a 285W TGP with an average power draw of roughly 226W when gaming. So if you're in the market for a new CORSAIR power supply, you should consider picking up one of our fully-modular 750W models to account for your other components in your build. Like other GeForce RTX 40-Series cards, the RTX 4070 Ti features the PCIe Gen 5 connector and includes an adapter in the box that’ll allow you to use your existing PSU cables for power. This will do the job if you're alright with the added cable bulk. At the launch of the RTX 40-Series, we released our single-cable solution that connects directly to a CORSAIR Type-4 or Type-3 power supply that’ll draw all the power needed for your new graphics card. And if the stock look isn’t for you, we've since launched an individually sleeved premium version of this cable in different colors to match the rest of your build! A Quick Word on Cooling When it comes to cooling, the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti will very likely come in many different shapes and sizes as each manufacturer puts their own spin on the platform. If you're looking to reclaim some board space and expand the cooling potential of the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, stay tuned for updates from us regarding availability from our HYDRO X Series of products! Closing Thoughts It's exciting to see levels of performance that were once reserved exclusively for the highest end of the gaming graphics card market come down to more accessible tiers. If you've been sitting on an older generation graphics card, will you be going for an upgrade? Let us know in the comments!
  4. The XENEON FLEX Bendable UltraWide Gaming Monitor is the world’s first bendable 21:9 OLED Gaming Monitor, developed in partnership with LG Display! But what's the benefit of a bendable ultrawide monitor? Let's find out! Curvature Crash Course Curved monitors have become increasingly popular in recent years, with some featuring a subtle curve to increase comfort while working with an ultrawide display, and others offering a more extreme curve that fills your field of view for gaming and other content. To explain how curvature is measured, imagine yourself standing in the middle of a large circle, surrounded by the same curved monitor. Your distance from one of those monitors would be the radius, and that distance is what we use to express curvature. So, in our imaginary circle of curved monitors, if the distance is 800 millimeters from the center to the edge, our circle would be made up of displays that have a curvature of 800R. If our complete circle of monitors is larger, then we’d likely be dealing with a less extreme curvature such as 1000R. So to sum it up, a smaller number such as 800 before the R means that the display has a more obvious curve while 1000R would have a slightly wider curve and a monitor with a 38000R curve would be barely noticeable. Why Make it Bend? Making the XENEON FLEX bendable means that you can pick a curvature that suits your needs. Having a curved display is great for content that lends itself well to the experience and there are some benefits to introducing a curve in terms of reducing general eye fatigue when working with an ultra-wide display, however we’d like to give users the ability to pick what’s comfortable for them! For instance, if you’re using the XENEON FLEX for work and entertainment in your home office. You could have the display set to flat or even a slight curve during the workday while working on spreadsheets, presentations, or creative applications like Photoshop or Premiere. Then, once you’ve wrapped up with work, you can wind down and set the display to a more aggressive curve and dive into your favorite racing sim or get lost in another epic RPG. And, since the XENEON FLEX’s curvature is adjustable, if you’re playing a game that requires a high degree of visual accuracy across the entire display area such as a sports title or RTS where the effect from a curved display could be distracting, you can set the display back to a less aggressive curve or even leave it at its flat setting if you prefer. As a final note, curved monitors are generally a single user experience, the effect of the curved panel is best viewed from one specific position, which can make it awkward to share the screen with anybody else in the room. So, if you have friends over and decide to hop on a local multiplayer game, you can set the XENEON FLEX back to its flat setting so that everyone can enjoy the experience! Closing Thoughts The CORSAIR XENEON FLEX bends the rules, giving you a greater degree of customization for your viewing experience than ever before in a gaming monitor. If you're curious to see more of the XENEON FLEX in action, check out this quick how-to video we've put together to demonstrate the bending process in detail! 5. Today we're happy to take the wraps off of a new feature that's come to the CORSAIR iCUE Software, Murals! iCUE Murals replaces the "Scenes" section on the iCUE home screen with a more powerful, interactive tool that enables you to turn any image, audio output, or display into dynamic RGB lighting that spans across your entire room. First, you'll want to make sure to update to the latest version of CORSAIR iCUE (at the time of writing, that'd be iCUE 4.30.162), so swing by our Downloads page or check for updates in iCUE if you've already got an older version installed on your system. Once you've updated to iCUE 4.30.162 or newer, you can start exploring iCUE Murals! New effects can be added by hitting the "+" button, and from there you can select from a variety of lighting effects. After a brief setup process. That effect will now be applied to all available devices that support iCUE Murals. To make further adjustments to an iCUE Murals effect that you've created, hover your mouse cursor over one of your effects and open the Colors and Settings menu. This will let you change the name of the effect, change the effect type, and adjust scaling. Further adjustments can be made in the Murals tab at the top of the iCUE window, where you can change the placement, size, and orientation of your iCUE Murals-compatible devices along a 2D plane that represents your screen or other chosen lighting effect. Note that you can stack devices on top of each other if you want them to light up at the same time with the same colors of whatever animation source you've chosen. The devices panel on the left can be used to quickly select a device if it isn't immediately visible in a stack of other devices. You can also disable murals for individual devices if you'd rather that device use our standard lighting system. Devices that have been excluded from iCUE Murals (but still support the feature) are marked with a clear circle in the iCUE menus. And will still have access to their standard lighting features and support multiple lighting layers (if the device is capable of doing so). Also, one last note. Murals are tied to profiles, so you can switch between profiles that you've set up with our standard layered lighting system and profiles that you've set up to use a Mural effect. Making this incredibly powerful if say you have a profile with standard lighting set up that you like for just general computing and a separate profile with the Murals "Monitor Screen" effect applied for gaming that you can switch to on the fly (or tie to a game executable) for your favorite game! And that's it! Y'all may have noticed we've announced this feature as a Beta, and that's because this is a really new approach to lighting for us and we want our users to spend some hands on time with Murals and provide their feedback here in the forums. Additional release notes for iCUE 4.30.162 can be found here Let us know what you think in the comments!
  6. With the latest release of CORSAIR iCUE (4.29.X at the time of writing), Nanoleaf's ecosystem of smart lighting devices can be synced with your CORSAIR iCUE-compatible hardware, peripherals, and more! If you've already got a set of Nanoleaf's Lines, Shapes, or Canvas set up through the Nanoleaf mobile app, you'll be able to jump right in after a quick iCUE update! (Currently, 4.29.201 can be downloaded directly from our website.) Once you've started up iCUE, go to Settings -> Integrations, enable the Nanoleaf Integration, and start the Setup Wizard. The Setup Wizard will guide you through the process and detect any compatible Nanoleaf devices connected to your network. It'll ask you to press and hold the power button on the Controller to pair the device to iCUE. Once pairing is complete, you'll be able to jump into lighting effects and see your Nanoleaf display. Nanoleaf devices work with a wide variety of lighting effects, I personally recommend sticking to 1-2 lighting effects at most to get started and you can also use Link Link effects which'll apply to all compatible devices to quickly set the mood of your space! Impressed? So are we! Do you plan to add your Nanoleaf devices to iCUE? Please share in the comments and let us know if you've got any questions we can help with!
  7. NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 40-Series Founders Edition graphics cards have been announced, featuring higher levels of performance and the inclusion of a new power connector that we’ve noticed the community has questions about. Is Your PSU Ready? The 12VHPWR / PCIe 5.0 power connector on the side of these graphics cards is part of the upcoming ATX 3.0 power supply specification. So, you may be asking if your current power supply is up to the task. The good news is that, yes, your current power supply is likely to do just fine with the right cable configuration. While these new graphics cards will be supplied with an adapter that converts up to three PCIe 8-pin power connectors into the necessary 12VHPWR to supply board power, you’ll need to ensure that you’re using multiple, high quality PCIe power cables in the first place. Each 8-pin PCIe power connector must be rated to take on a load of 225W of power, so for the adapter supplied with the new RTX 4090 you’ll need three dedicated PCIe 8-pin power connectors (from separate cables coming off of your PSU) to hit the max 600W rating of the 12VHPWR connector while also accounting for any inefficiencies introduced by the adapter. To simplify things, we’re introducing a dedicated 12VHPWR Type-4 cable that runs up to 600W of power directly from your Type-4 CORSAIR PSU. Giving you peace of mind that your graphics card is getting all the power it needs, while also simplifying cable management (we know that cable bulk adds up very quickly). Each of the two PSU-side connections is rated for 300W of power per connector, adding up to the 600W needed for the 12VHPWR side for your graphics card. As mentioned, this cable is compatible with all Type-4 CORSAIR power supplies, however to ensure that load requirements are met, here’s a quick reference for our recommended PSU wattage (allowing some headroom for potential overclocking). 1200W PSU -> 600W max graphics card load 1000W PSU -> 450W max graphics card load 750W PSU -> 300W max graphics card load RTX 40-Series Power Supply Q&A: Q: Do I need an ATX 3.0 PSU to run a 40-series graphics card? A: No, ATX 3.0 is an upcoming specification for power supplies and is not required for RTX 40-series. Q: Do I need a PCIe 5.0 power cable to run a 40-series graphics card? A: No, every 40-series Founders Edition graphics card will include an adapter in the box and many third-party board makers may use the current 8-pin PCIe connectors on their 40-series offerings which would be compatible with your PSU. Q: How much power do I need for a 40-series graphics card? A: From NVIDIA: 850W PSU for RTX 4090 (450W) 750W PSU for the RTX 4080 16GB (320W) 700W PSU for the RTX 4080 12GB (285W) Closing Thoughts As with every new generation of graphics cards, we're excited to see new levels of performance and even more awesome builds! Are you planning to upgrade or build a new gaming PC when NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40-Series drops? Let us know in the comments!
  8. New updates to the Philips Hue Smart Ambient Lighting integration in CORSAIR iCUE make it easier than ever to sync up your system lighting with the ambient lighting in your room. To get set up, check out this tutorial video we've put together over at CORSAIR LAB: Requirements: Make sure you've updated to the current version of CORSAIR iCUE Your system and your Philips Hue Bridge need to be on the same home network Set up at least one entertainment zone in the Philips Hue mobile app for iOS or Android Configure Entertainment Zones in the Philips Hue Mobile App First, you'll want to go through the initial setup process on the Philips Hue mobile app to pair your Philips Hue-compatible lighting to a Philips Hue Bridge. After adding your home lighting, create at least one entertainment zone for the lights you wish to have available for CORSAIR iCUE to control. Enable the Philips Hue Integration in iCUE From the iCUE homescreen, go to Settings -> Integrations and toggle the Philips Hue Integration on. Pair iCUE to Philips Hue Bridge From the iCUE homescreen, hover over the tile for the Philips Hue bridge and click on "Setup Wizard". Follow the steps to pair CORSAIR iCUE to your bridge. Lighting Effects Once paired to your Philips Hue Bridge, CORSAIR iCUE will pull the information it needs to drive any Entertainment Zones you've set up in the Philips Hue Mobile App, creating separate zones for each Entertainment Zone. From here, all you need to do is add a lighting effect in the "Lighting Layers" panel and assign it to a zone (we recommend 1-2 lighting effects for best results per lighting zone). If you use multiple profiles in CORSAIR iCUE, make sure to go through each of them and set up your desired lighting effects for your Philips Hue ambient lights for each profile. Wrapping Up If you need to hand control of your Entertainment Zones back to your other smart home devices, go to the "Device Settings" tab and toggle off the setting for "Lighting Playback".
