  1. I use Corsair PSU's exclusively, most of them being the HXi series. I have a 750w unit that might be faulty. The PC it was in would drop power in Runescape and DOTA - but would be fine with things like Prime95, Furmark and memtest running for hours. I watched as my son was playing Runescape and sure enough, it dropped power every 7 - 10 minutes. But after swapping out his PC with a spare I couldn't initiially reproduce the problem. Then I played DOTA and went to the dashboard. Sure enough, 10 seconds later it dropped power and rebooted. And it would do it every time. After a 4 or 5 tests the PC would boot up with a black screen. I removed the GPU, cleaned it and re-applied thermal paste, put it back in the PC and it booted up with artifacts. Clearly the GPU is now faulty. But with power drops, my first inclination is faulty PSU. Could the PSU be faulty and killed the GPU? Is the dropping of power and rebooting symptomatic of a PSU issue or a GPU issue or both? I've ordered a new GPU which cost A$900 given they are rare as hens teeth at present. I'm fearful of putting it in the PC in case the PSU is what killed the original card - but I don't have a spare PSU, and now I don't have enough money for a new PSU (~ A$250)- Besides which the PSU is only 4 years old. I also don't have a PSU tester.
  2. This is starting to get really annoying. No Corsair cooler I've purchased has managed to make it past 18 months, with most typically failing at thr 9 month point. I have a H115i Pro RGB that was sent to me by Corsair as a replacement for another H115i that failed. Now the replacement, which was new, has also failed. It just doesn't cool at all. Liquid temp is 37 degrees celsius at idle with ambient temp at 27 celsius. If run anything the CPU will shoot up to 80c with the cooler going flat stick. Does Corsair make any cooling products that last? I'm sick of having to rip these out and go through weeks to months a drama every 6 months or so. If I go through my retailer I won't see a replacement for about 3 months. If I go through Corsair it is quicker, but I have to use advanced RMA process. Each system has a commander pro, which is why I've stuck with Corsair PSUs and coolers, but this is just insane. I use 280mm coolers on my mildly overclocked HEDT systems and 240mm coolers on the mainstream systems (9600K etc). My case won't fit a 360mm cooler. I don't want RGB. I definitely don't want to use their system killing software iCue. It's full of bugs and doesn't work anyway and last time I installed it I think it was about a gigabyte. I use Corsair Link. It does everything I need and it's 54mb and uses 0.5% cpu. Do all the current models require iCue or can I continue to use CorsairLink? I'm really starting to think it's time to jump ship.
  3. It seems after talking to a couple of retailers I'm getting my terminology mixed up. Apparently they call it "illumination" not per-key back lighting. Anyway, thanks for the suggestion. Looking at this keyboard there is lighting bleeding through all sides of the keys. Is it possible to turn that off? I only want the illumination to show through the actual key only. Not fond of iCue. It's a massive package (about 1GB), that (having read the forums), seems to have more bugs than NZXT's CAM software. And it hammers the system. I did some tests as I have Corsair commander Pros, coolers and PSUs. I could never get it to work, and it looks terrible, but worst of all it constantly uses 6-8% CPU... (and again after reading forums), it seems as if Corsair consider this CPU load to be acceptable. All I wanted was fan speeds and temps, so 1GB of software that didn't work properly, hammers my system and looks unpleasant was a no go. I went back to CorsairLink 4.6.19 (The one that also shows HDD temps). 56Mb, 0.5% CPU and it just does what it's supposed to do and nothing more. iCue doesn't uninstall properly, but that's OK, if I can save the settings to the keyboard, I can just restore my system to an earlier image without iCue. Curiously, one retailer laughed at me when I asked if it was silent. He said there is no such thing as silent mechanical switches. He says the best you might find are some that are "almost quiet"?
  4. I am looking to buy 3 keyboards. My existing ones are Logitech G105 and they 5-6 years old. They are exceptional keyboards. I'm looking to see if Corsair has anything as exceptional. Specifically I'm looking for keyboards that are silent. Literally, no keyboard sound. The G105's are membrane and given I'm at a keyboard 14 hours a day noisy keyboards will drive me insane. Indeed, my son has a Logitech Orion G910 keyboard that is supposed to silent. I can hear him typing from my downstairs kitchen. The G105 has PER KEY back light. For those who don't know what that is there are basically 3 lighting techniques. A backlit color that is under the keys that bleeds out from all sides and looks disgusting. Then we have RBG, which is equally gross. I'm not a touch typist and flashing colors, or even multi color on a keyboard is exceptionally distracting. And then we have per key backlight where each individual key is back lit with a single soft color. Either blue or white (blu being my preference). So, I'm looking for per key backlit keyboards that are genuinely silent, are full keyboards (not missing the numeric keypad). And it needs to be black (no pink, purple or polka dot colors), and of solid construction. If I have to install software the use the keyboard, or to disable unwanted features I'm not interested in it.This is a keyboard for typing, I don't want to add software so it can cook dinner or do my shopping. I just want to use it to type. Programmable keys are a bonus, media keys are a "meh". Price is not a consideration. For the right keyboard I will pay a reasonable price. I'm in Australia where technology is insanely expensive. So the keyboard needs to be sold locally. I've had a look at several retailers but have yet to discover a keyboard suiting my needs. Is any one here using or know of a keyboard that meets my needs?
  5. They do actually have stock, in 3 of 4 stores, so I don't know what she is on about. Neither does she by the sound of it.
  6. The retailer has confirmed the C/Pro is dead. Took them almost 4 weeks to figure that out :) They gave me a store credit because they say this item is "discontinued". I found at least 15 stores with > 1 stock, so I will be able to get a new one.. But, this raises another question - What can I use in place of a C/Pro with the Corsair coolers and PSUs if the product is indeed no longer available? Errr... please don't say 'iCue"... with all due respect, that product is unusable and massive bloatware. It hammers my systems non stop (CPU and disk), and still has more bugs than Windows 10.
  7. Indeed. When I build systems Windows is installed from an image with no internet connection. Drivers, applications and tweaks are all applied pre-Internet, meaning iCue cannot be installed as part of our image rollout process, or we have to install an old version first and then touch every PC to update to the latest version. Because Microsoft makes a massive Telemetry dump during install, and the default and difficult to circumvent Microsoft Account vs local account, having the internet disconnected is a must. That's insane. A bad move by Corsair and of no help to system builders. Yet another reason to stay away from iCue. As if there weren't enough reasons already!
  8. Yes I do. Power issues here are rare. Maybe once every six months the power will flick off for a couple of seconds, and the occasional thunderstorm. Heat might be more of an issue, which is why I am so paranoid about good air flow. This case has 5 fans + the two radiator fans. The problem is there is nowhere to place the C/Pro except on the back of the motherboard tray - where there is the least airflow. The local retailer is the first point of contact for RMA. They then send it back through the local distributor in Sydney called Ingram Micro, who then send it on to Corsair.
  9. If we say that the C/Pro is a "Fan product" as defined in the warranty page, then yes it has a two year warranty. The documentation states to return it to the original place of purchase. Looks like the purchase date was March 2018. I'll go through the retailers RMA process. Going by the last C/Pro I returned that will take 4 weeks, so I'll have to buy another one. (This is the 2nd of 5 C/Pro's to fail). They are only open 2 days over the next week which will add more delays I suppose. I'm starting to worry that there is something wrong with my environment - I've had over a dozen coolers fail over 5 years, and now 2 C/Pro's. Also 1 x 1200w PSU. All Corsair. If I RMA through Corsair direct I'm up for shipping costs it's probably not worth the trouble. As a side note; One thing I learned early on with these is never use the tape on the device to stick to your case. They are difficult to remove after they've been there for a while.
  10. Lol, happy holidays... No I didn't. The H100i V2 header is on the motherboard's PUMP_FAN header beside the ATX power connectors where it's always been (Refer to MSI X299 XPower Gaming AC manual here: https://download.msi.com/archive/mnu_exe/mb/E7A91v1.2.pdf). Refer post #3 above where I said exactly that. I should have said "USB Header to the motherboard". Omitting the word "USB" has lead to wrong conclusions. To be clear: The ONLY things connected to the C/Pro were (a) 5 case fans (b). The H100i USB cable to the pump and ©. The temp sensors. I could have connected my HX850i USB connector to the C/Pro too... I just never bothered. AT NO TIME DID I CONNECT THE PUMPS 3-PIN POWER CONNECTOR to the C/PRO. So where does that leave us? I do believe the C/Pro is faulty, but not for the reasons you assume. Geez, forum software that changes words to be politically correct. That's really sad :( It's Christmas here. There are no holidays.
  11. It's going from bad to worse. Moving the H100i V2 header to the motherboard made no difference. Today I find no case fans spinning and my HDDs cooking. Had unplug/replug the C/pro power to get the fans spinning again. Though, none of them are responding to temperature changes. They all appear to be spinning at minimum speeds. C/Link is no longer showing any case fans either I think I have a dead C/Pro. Nothing open for the next few days that sells them. It's out of warranty, so I've had to move fans back to motherboard to keep system running. Sitting at 60c - 70c for the drives can't be good for them. In the summer weather here they are normally at 40 - 45c. Resetting the C/Pro didn't help
  12. ok, tried a combinations of fans across all of the 6 ports. Nothing will show on 4-6. It wasn't working fine on the new hardware. I finished building it and this is the outcome from the get go. I was reading some other forums, they suggested moving the USB pump header back to the motherboard instead of the C-Pro. I'll lose my cases front USB 2.0 ports, but that's no big issue. I'll give that a try shortly. Motherboard is on latest bios (A) and previous BIOS (B).
  13. Thanks for your reply. This is my server, not my personal system. There are no iPPC fans. The radiator has two stock SP120 fans. The case fans are fractal fans, stock fans with the case, except the bottom fan which I added and that is a NF-A14 PWM (iirc), a noctua fan. There are no splitters. The only other monitoring program installed is MSI After burner for the MSI GTX 1660 Ti Gaming X graphics card. The pump's USB cable plugs into the commander Pro. The pumps fan is connected to the PUMP_FAN1 header on the motherboard (X299 XPower Gaming AC - coincidentally the same motherboard that is in my PC). The fan speeds do not change in link. Regardless of what speed they are doing, they report either 515 (P1) or 560 (P2 and P3), RPM. Fans on ports 4,5,6 don't show at all, but yes they are spinning. Only 1,2,3 are showing. What changed: Bigger case (Swapped Fractal Define R5 for Fractal Define XL R2 and a new motherboard - Removed ASRock X299 Taichi, Added X299 XPower Gaming AC). Bigger case needed as the R5 does not fit E-ATX motherboards. Both cases used the same brand fans (Stock), and the same Corsair Cooler with stock SP120 fans.
  14. The fans speeds do not change. It shows only 3 of the 5 connected fans, all of which are spinning. Swapped fans around various connections. Unplugged a fan in 1,2,3 and Corsairlink reports 0 rpm. Reconnect it, it shows either 515rpm or 560 rpm. Uninstalled and reinstall. Tried the latest 3 versions of Corsairlink, though I need 5.6.19 as it reports the HDDs, and this is a server with 8 HDDs so I want to monitor drive temps. Later versions dropped support for HDDs. Against my better judgement I installed iCue. OMG! 900MB just to report fans and temps! - Only because I figured it would be suggested as the "Omnipotent solution to all things link". It didn't solve the problem. It still only shows 3 fans.
  15. Guys, is there any time frame on resolution of issues I reported in January 2018 (Yes, almost 2 years ago). 1. Excessively High CPU usage ~ 6% always) 2. Excessively high process count 3. Excessively large install size. I see the trend is that the software is getting bigger 4. Stability in the application for (a) Random disconnect/reconnect (b). Application hangs and crashes ©. Stable fans speeds when temps are stable (Mine randomly speed up and slow down). (d). Custom fan curves disappearing randomly (e). Custom UI layouts not sticking beyond a reboot (f). Random failures to detect devices such as PSU, commander Pro and/or coolers? (g). Application sometimes fails to open PSUs - ALL Corsair 650w to 1200w Coolers - All Corsair H110, H150, H100 V2 CPUs All Intel 8600K, 9600K, 9700K 7900X, 7820K and 7800K Memory: Either Corsair or G.Skill All 16GB except 2 PCs which have 32GB OS: Windows 10 1809 or Win 2012 R2. thanks
