  1. For me, it is the Timer Action that is broken for my K95 keyboard. Pressing a key no longer resets the timer !

  3. I have an Aorus Z390 Master mobo with three NVMe drives plus a couple of standard SSD drives. As long as you follow the rules in your mobo manual, you can easily avoid bus conflicts. My comment relates to NVMe slot temps at idle... M2M - Corsair MP510 - 35C M2A - Corsair MP510 - 29C M2P - Samsung 970 EVO+ - 33C (running Win10 OS) Rather oddly, the second slot is the cooler of the three.
  4. Hmmm... My MP510 860Gb performs as shown in my Aorus Z390 Master mobo. Two obvious differences, first the NVMe drive size, second the storage driver being used... What other storage devices have you got plugged into your mobo? Perhaps you have a bus conflict?
  5. RAID makes sense for spinning disks, where the performance gains are measurable, however, I'm not convinced about using RAID with SSDs, certainly in PCs. I have two MP510 860Gb drives and I have had them running in both RAID and AHCI modes on my PC. RAID was a PITA to set up on my Aorus Master mobo as it involves several BIOS tweaks. Performance wise, the RAID setup was slightly faster on writes than ACHI, but not so significantly as to justify the risks associated with running RAID. AHCI is a far simpler operating mode with less risks attached and far less hassle to set up. RAID requires specific drivers which are not typically integrated into the OS (eg. Windows 10). In an Intel based system, these are usually the Intel RST drivers, which must be available to the OS before enabling RAID mode in the BIOS. AHCI drivers are native to Windows 10, so everything should just work out of the box. IMHO, unless you need the combined space of two SSD drives in a single volume, I would stick with AHCI as the overall performance is pretty similar to RAID, but the hassle and risks are far less.
  6. Just got my K95 RGB Platinum and have been trying to work out how to turn off the LEDs automatically when it has been idle for a given period. I was surprised to discover that this is not a built in feature, although it can be achieved with a few tricks. As this is NOT at all obvious to a novice user like myself, I will describe my simple solution in the hope that it may help someone else... 1) Create a couple of profiles, one called Awake and one called Asleep. 2) Set up Awake with all of the lighting effects that you desire. 3) Set up Asleep with all lighting off. 4) Within the Asleep profile, add an Action and select Profile Switching from the drop-down. Set the switching mode to direct and select Awake as the profile. Also click on the Enter key in the top window. In Advanced, select Retain original key output. 5) Within the Awake profile, add an Action and select Profile Switching from the drop-down. Set the switching mode to direct and select Asleep as the profile. Also click on the Enter key in the top window. In Advanced, de-select Retain original key output. 6) Within the Awake profile, add an Action and select Timer from the drop-down. Set an appropriate delay, say 20 mins and check Restart Timer. In Advanced, set Action trigger to On Release and check Retain original key output. In Stop, set the Action to switch to the Asleep profile. To test this, set the Restart Timer to 30 secs and press the Enter key with your Awake profile active. After 30 secs of keyboard inactivity, your Asleep profile will kick in. Now press Enter and your Awake profile will kick in. Leave it alone for another 30 secs and Asleep will kick in again. Once you are happy that it works, set the timer back to a sensible delay. Any press of the Enter key will reset the timer, so under normal typing conditions the keyboard will stay awake. This is a quick and dirty work around until Corsair get round to implementing this feature properly. Unfortunately only a single key can be assigned to the Profile Switch and it MUST be the same for both profiles for it to work properly. Enter is a good choice of key as it is one of the most frequently pressed during normal typing. As implemented, mouse movements will not wake up the Asleep profile.
  7. The v12.3 F/W upgrade is non-destructive so long as you are starting from an earlier v12.* release. If your FW is currently v11.*, then the upgrade will wipe the drive. Personally, I would upgrade the FW prior to installing the OS, if this is practical. I have CSM enabled and Secure Boot disabled, although I doubt that it makes much difference. Also, for a fresh OS install, I concur that it would be safest to unplug all other SATA drives first.
  8. Using the Balanced cooler profile, at idle, my coolant temperature is 5C above room temperature, which are 20C/25C whilst typing this post. I've never seen it above 35C even during stress tests. Note that I take in cool air from the case front and have a push/pull fan configuration. If you are seeing similar results, then your installation most be OK :biggrin:
  9. I suspect that you are worrying about nothing... I have exactly the same mobo / cooler / CPU combination and it all works perfectly.

    Why are you trying to fry your PSU at idle? Forget zero RPM mode and set a low RPM fan profile. The fan on my HX850i runs at 700RPM, makes no noise and the PSU has an operational temp that stays a couple of degrees above room temp, typically 23C, regardless of the power draw. BTW, iCUE is rubbish for monitoring temps as you cannot tell, from your screenshots, which components relate to which graphs.
  12. You've RMA'd the same model three times !!! Why not try a different series, like HX, rather than continuing with the RM series? I don't get any unusual sound, from my HX850i.

I started with an active splitter, however, I managed to break it performing multiple power cycles when trying to repair a corrupted mobo BIOS :roll: Up to that point it had performed flawlessly! I then switched to a passive splitter using some parts and cables that I had lying around from a previous build, which I had forgotten about!   14. My best advice is to avoid the CoolIt built AIOs and stick with the more reliable Asetek AIOs. Don't be seduced by all of this RGB nonsense, go for the H115i PRO.
  15. Yes and yes. I actually use an internal USB splitter to connect both my HX850i and H115i devices to a single USB 2.0 mobo header (standard dual-port) . My entire system is monitored with Aida64 and HWinfo. Although I do have iCue installed for the sole purpose of setting fan and coolant profiles, I do not load it during Windows 10 boot.
