Introducing iCUE Murals (Beta)

 Share

Today we're happy to take the wraps off of a new feature that's come to the CORSAIR iCUE Software, Murals!

iCUE Murals replaces the "Scenes" section on the iCUE home screen with a more powerful, interactive tool that enables you to turn any image, audio output, or display into dynamic RGB lighting that spans across your entire room.

First, you'll want to make sure to update to the latest version of CORSAIR iCUE (at the time of writing, that'd be iCUE 4.30.162), so swing by our Downloads page or check for updates in iCUE if you've already got an older version installed on your system.

Once you've updated to iCUE 4.30.162 or newer, you can start exploring iCUE Murals!

New effects can be added by hitting the "+" button, and from there you can select from a variety of lighting effects.

After a brief setup process. That effect will now be applied to all available devices that support iCUE Murals.

To make further adjustments to an iCUE Murals effect that you've created, hover your mouse cursor over one of your effects and open the Colors and Settings menu. This will let you change the name of the effect, change the effect type, and adjust scaling.

Further adjustments can be made in the Murals tab at the top of the iCUE window, where you can change the placement, size, and orientation of your iCUE Murals-compatible devices along a 2D plane that represents your screen or other chosen lighting effect. Note that you can stack devices on top of each other if you want them to light up at the same time with the same colors of whatever animation source you've chosen.

The devices panel on the left can be used to quickly select a device if it isn't immediately visible in a stack of other devices. You can also disable murals for individual devices if you'd rather that device use our standard lighting system.

Devices that have been excluded from iCUE Murals (but still support the feature) are marked with a clear circle in the iCUE menus.

And will still have access to their standard lighting features and support multiple lighting layers (if the device is capable of doing so).

Also, one last note. Murals are tied to profiles, so you can switch between profiles that you've set up with our standard layered lighting system and profiles that you've set up to use a Mural effect. Making this incredibly powerful if say you have a profile with standard lighting set up that you like for just general computing and a separate profile with the Murals "Monitor Screen" effect applied for gaming that you can switch to on the fly (or tie to a game executable) for your favorite game!

And that's it! Y'all may have noticed we've announced this feature as a Beta, and that's because this is a really new approach to lighting for us and we want our users to spend some hands on time with Murals and provide their feedback here in the forums.

Additional release notes for iCUE 4.30.162 can be found here

Are the murals all incredibly pale for everyone else ? Screen Monitor especially may as well be all white with a tiny hint of colour now and then. Most of the video ones also are very washed out....is there no Saturation slider anywhere ?

Thanks for the Murals updates!! It's incredible that we can have multiple device layouts and toggle devices on a per-profile basis now.

The delete button for device layouts is a little too close though:

Also, the Audio Lighting mural still doesn't work (but the individual Audio Lighting works).

Regardless, thanks for giving iCUE much love and effort as always! 🎉

😊

This is nice feature! But to quote Kelmster, I would also enjoy a flip/mirror option in addition to rotating single devices! Keep up the great work. Maybe advanced rotation could be an option too? As in rotating by 1 degree angles, it could make some funky set-ups I imagine.

I like it! But I would love it if it was possible to "flip" the fans/hardware orientation instead of just rotating them. Effects are flipped on my fans (easy to see with the audio lighting, lights that should be on the right are on the left and vice-versa). Rotating doesn't work because it now causes the lights to go down instead of up. Being able to "flip" or "mirror" the fans/devices would fix it.

Thanks!👏

Hey,

I love the new possibilities and effects, but i also want the old effects back as an addition. Rainbow, rain etc. were also awesome.

Also i habe a Problem with my ql wings. Cause i want the inside of my PC as gradient, the effect has to be mirrored because the back of the wings light the inside. Or do i oversee an option? Putting them upside down is also not working, because the audioeffect etc is the wrong way then.

Would be awesome, if there will be a feature, to mirror the wings or change it in the Murals tap to the backside and place them.

I just want to say that I regret going with iCue products on my PC build. Why? Because the new murals are caused my Vengence Pro RAM and Asus motherboard to go crazy. I had iCue + Armory Crate and can't control my motherboard through iCue. No problem, I do some research and figure out I may need to uninstall Armory Crate and install Aura Sync in it's place. Now I can control the motherboard through iCue but my Corsair Vengeance RAM is not being recognized in iCue. Seriously, WTF! I uninstall Aura Sync and now my RAM is recognized in iCue but I have no motherboard control. What a waste of time running in circles. At one point in the past I got it all to work, by a miracle only from God above, and it's been downhill with all these updates. The only thing worse than troubleshooting myself is getting on the phone with Corsair support who are incompetent and take me through the same install and reinstall process with no success. Is it too much to ask for to have Murals apply to my Asus motherboard and all other Corsair components?!? I'm just fed up with this stupid software.

Not to mention I spent $250 on the new Corsair K100 air keyboard and now find out that the RGB murals don't work on it while wireless. It's so disappointing that my Corsair Dark Core RGB pro mouse works with murals wirelessly but not this new keyboard.  What gives?

After installing and reinstalling and uninstalling and reinstalling I got most of it to work. Using the aura sync v2 instead of the full armory create.  Unfortunately the wireless keyboard doesn't support lighting link so it's out of sync with the rest of the set-up. Lighting link works better across all devices than murals as the asus motherboard I have is not compatible.  Hopefully this can be fixed in a future update. There is so much potential here for Corsair to be great!! Wishing for better days in the future.

Murals is just an additional lighting effect. You can use all old lighting effects by Lighting Link.

The Keyboard has many LEDs, that why it can not be using with Murals in Wireless mode.

Ok icue is now going crazy thanks to the firmware update that just came out for the commander core XT. Since that update to the firmware murals is freezing, its defaulting the DPI setup on my mouse and the temp sensor to my icue reservoir no longer reads. Also saw icue memory usage hit  over 1600MB a few times.

Also its defaulting all fans to quiet mode

Clicking any mural causes a complete system crash after a couple of seconds. Sometimes DRAM red light on motherboard, sometimes CPU red light, and no video output. Power button does nothing and have to completely unplug/switch off the power supply.

Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 4x8GB with x399 Designare EX motherboard. I also have a Corsair Gaming keyboard and H150i PRO AIO CPU cooler.

That's a bit bizarre.  The no video output got my attention.  Are you having any other problems with GPU load (games, renders, video. etc.)?  CUE does use the GPU to render the UI elements, like those video effects.  Either way, this is a fairly serious issue.  Start a Support Ticket from the link at the bottom of the page.  Even if it is a hardware issue elsewhere, the symptoms and connection to CUE need to be identified.
