Thank you Yellow and Mister for the response. I've decided I'm probably going to get the H100 and put it in push/pull after seeing the pics. I can live with one fan spot being vacant up top and the space it takes up. Got to find the needed extra screws now

**UPDATE** Good Screws found here--> http://www.frozencpu.com/products/13...Ryh&mv_pc=4968

Also Mister, I noticed that the two extra PWM fans you installed only reach a top rated speed of 2,000rpm while the stock Corsair fans reach 2,500rpm in High Performance mode. Do you think that makes a difference? I was thinking about finding two extra fans that could almost match 2,500rpms. The Cooljag Everflows are the ones I'm thinking about, what do you think?

Can someone at Corsair clarify if the built in controller actually adjusts fan speeds on non Corsair fans? What if I'm using other 3 pin fans?
Thanks.

The puller fans don't need to be an exact match to the push units. As a general rule of thumb, you put the fans with the highest static pressure in the "push" position... however the pull fans can have a lower SP and even a lower CFM (fan speed doesn't necessarily have anything to do with either of these variables).

Ideally, if you have an equal CFM rating on the puller fans, you are good to go, but you should also take into consideration that the CFM reaching the far side of the radiator is NOT going to be equal to the rated max CFM of the push fans. The energy lost due to friction and turbulence will reduce this number by quite a bit. It is because of this, that you can typically get away with using lower CFM (rated) fans on the pull side.

In a nut shell, its not as big a deal as you might imagine. Just be sure to check out the static pressure ratings before deciding on which pair to use as the push and/or pull units.

I should also note that the awesome Mr. Kelvin over at Corsair is sending me a set of mounting screws/washers simply because I asked. Awesome support guys!

I can confirm that it does, indeed, control "aftermarket" fans. There is nothing special about the Corsair (branded) fans in this respect.

BTW, YellowBeard, who is Corsair using for fan suppliers? IMO, may be nice to have some extra length in the stock fan's power cables in case someone wants to connect them to the MB instead of the CPU block.

Wow, it really does? Then I'm impressed because I have my aftermarket fans set on low and my H100 outdoes my previous air cooler by 5-10C with the same fans on high.

Sounds about right going from air to an AIO liquid cooler.

This.

The wires on the fans on the H100 are too short if installing it in a 600t. I had to remove the wires from the fan plug then run it through one of the screw holes then reassemble it on the other side. Kind of disappointing that corsair has to make us do this to install the H100 in one of their own cases.

This is exactly what I did, I just used my dremel to notch part of the fan and it fit perfectly, I set it to pull air out of the case and the four fans on the H100 to pull air into the case, I have a video of my rebuild found here for those that want to watch it.

I may need to do this myself. Actually, my NoiseBlocker Multi-Frame fans have removable outer chassis mounts... perhaps one would fit w/o modification.

So I just installed my H100 with only the 2 Corsair stock fans pulling air into the case. CoreTemp has my CPU temp at 34-36 right now. I get my other two fans on Friday.

Let me just say that Mistermister was right, installing the fans between the rad and the case is a PAIN in the ****. I had to tie rubber bands on the fans to keep them against the case while I positioned the rad below them.

Kind of along with this question I was wondering how it goes about doing that. I assume it just modifies the voltage like a normal fan controller, and in that case does anyone know what voltages it puts out for the fans? Something like that chart in the blog post with the rpms for quiet, balanced and performance, but instead of the rpms, how about the voltages.

I ask because that could affect what fans someone puts on there and then we should be able to get a good idea of what rpms other fans would run at.

Thanks

That actually sounds much easier then what I did. LOL, all by hand baby. TWICE. Argh.

That sounds like a nightmare. Yeah, next time try cutting some rubber bands in half and then tie the fans in place with them. It worked really well for me. Just wondering Mister, what kinds of temps are you getting?

low 30s at idle and mid to low 60s under load (its been cooler lately so temps while folding and benching are closet to 60*C at the moment). This is with an i7 930 @ 4.21Ghz, which requires an atrocious 1.44v VCore to be 100% stable. This is with the stock push fans set to "high".

I hardly ever break 50*C while gaming, even with CPU intensive titles like BFBC2.

In fact, this thing cools so well I think I am going to leave it on "medium" unless it gets super hot outside and/or I am maxing out a benchmark or something.

Yeah I just got done playing one round of BFBC2 Vietnam and CoreTemp is saying the highest temp I got was 48. You live in San Diego too I see.

Right now with the stock fans it is idling at about 40 with it set on low. Now the temp in my house right about now is 27 so I consider the performance to be quite good. Now to try to decide what fans to go with as I don't really have room to do a push pull in this 650D.
