Default CMD16GX3M2A1866C9 Errors

Hello, I tried to get an Rma for these on the support page but cant continue after choosing the memory.

Memtest did find errors on these modules after running it for about 40-45 mins.

Any idea how to continue with rma since it wont let me get to thenext step on that page?

Best regards, Harri

Let me ask this first if you dont mind. Did you test each module one at a time. Or both together. Usually failing modules willerror right away, not after a time period as long as that.

You can always RMA them , I would just hate to see you go through the RMA service for nothing.
You can either call the CS dept and they can also process the RMA.
A failed memtest can mean quite a few things actually.

Both at the same time. Can try one module at atime and see if there is any difference. Thing is though, system boots up fine and all that. But when playing games i get crashes etc after some time. Really random when the crashes occur, sometimes after 5 mins and other times after 30 mins.

Have switched back to my old memory and everything works like a charm.

I was just curious. It's pretty rare that both modules fail at the same time and why i asked if you had tested them together or seperate.

If you are running them at the XMP profile some minor tweaks may get them stable.

What speed was your old kit?

Old ones were the Vengeance 1600mhz (CMZ8GX3M2X1600C8B) ones.

Going to do some tweaking over the weekend when i have more time. Hoping it helps.

Yeah, i would just to be sure. And run them trough memtest one at a time. Your also going from 1600 mhz modules to 1866mhz modules and doubling the capacity which is more strain on the memory controller.
So you may have to add a little more VCCSA voltage to get them stable. That alone could cause them to error and nothing be wrong with them in the first place.
I would just hate to se you get another set and have the same exact problem because they just were not set up correctly.

Let us know how you make out.
