Default H80 Noise again

Hi all.

First I just want to say that Corsair RMA services is excellent.

But, I am having a lot of problems with my corsair cooler.

1 - I bought a H60, that was totally silent for a year! after a year it start the grinding noise.

2- I opened an RMA, they sent me a sealed H60. The noise was worst that my 1 year old one!

3- I opened a new RMA. They sent me a new sealed H80. It was totally silent.

I install my new h80 last week. Guess what? it start griding yesterday. Not very loud, but I bought this cooler because I want a silent system. I have tried to reduce voltage with a diode, but it is worst. It is less noisy when I put my pc on flat.

I am not so sure that the problem was resolved on those cooler :(

Now I reply back to the email with my last RAM. I would like to keep my H80 fans and try a H70. The H70 seems to come from another supplier, and it seem to be the same one that another cooler company sells.

Thanks for listenning.

I am sorry but you will have to send the fans with the Cooler so you would not be able to keep the fans but you can order new fans from our site under cooling accessories.

No problems, I think that I already have a 120mm fan.

I am really bored of changing cpu cooler and to go tu the ups store now. I really want a cooler without noise.

The RMA dept told me that they could not send me an H70 because it is not available anymore. I am very surprised, because you can buy it from Corsair web site.

I am fed up of installing H series coolers in my PC now. I think that I will exchange my H80 again, and I will resell it on ebay, to buy a cooler like H70 made by another supplier.

I am sorry about that but keep in mind we are a manufacturer not a retail store. So once an item has went out of production we will no longer stock the item. But that does not mean to say that there is not some inventory still in the channel that is common and nothing to worry about. However, our customer service should have offered you an H80 as a replacement.

It is bad that the most quiet and reliable H70 cooler is obsolete and that Corsair keep selling coolers with noisy pumps :(

I guess I will exchange it for a fourth time.

Thanks Ramguy for answering all our concerns :)

The H70 was great design but the H80 is a better design and there is no noise issue that has not been present in any of our coolers. It is just that because of the high volume and success there was a small % of these coolers that seemed to be emitting more noise than what was acceptable and we made some changes to compensate. We have been public with this type of information unlike other companies , but you need to consider the Volume and you are one of the few who may have had a higher than average configuration. But let me know if you have any issues with the replacement I will be happy to personally help you with it.

Yes I have total silent H70 and I can't separate from that cooler. But I must sell because need money to continue my upgrade and I have H100. Temps are about 15C better with H100 than H70. But H80 is much better cooler than H70 and very close to H100.
Difference is maybe 5-7C or little more with 4 fans.
My ideal cooler is something between, radiator H100, pump shape from H60, tubes from H40, fans 4x Scythe Gentle Typhoon D1225C12B6AP-00 2150 RPM :).

So, is this mean that if I am buying an H70 from NCIX and it break, Corsair will not be able to replace it? I hope not, because I bought one and it is warranty for many years. I will sell my H80 replacement.

I'm guessing you have the first generation (Original) H70 cooler? The H70 available on the webstore is a CORE meaning there are no fans included.

If your Original H70 is still in warranty, and it needs replacement via RMA. Customer service would have done something to resolve it by sending an similar product or something better.
