bisonmikej
Does Corsair offer a partition utility? Windows wants to leave out about 8 gb on a Force GT 120 on its install set up. Is there software available to partition before the initial install of Win 7?
Toasted
Run the Windows 7 Installer>When you are at the language selection screen, Press Shift+F10>A Command prompt windows should pop up. Type "diskpart" (No quotes)>"list disk" (No quotes)>select disk X ( X=The SSD)>"create partition primary" (No quotes)>"exit" (No quotes)>"exit" (No quotes). You should be able to install Windows, Without it leaving 8GB space.
Wired
That's normal due to HDD manufacturers listing a KB as 1,000 bytes and the OS listing a KB as 1,024 bytes.
bisonmikej
Windows is reporting my drive to be 111.79gb, shouldn’t 120gb be reported as 120gb or something near that number? The drive was initially partitioned with Windows Vista. I now have Win 7/64 and before I install it I want to utilize the entire drive. I believe my drive should reflect its entire data area. What am I missing here?
Wired
Again, no. 120 GB = 111.76 GiB. GB = Base 10 GiB = Base 2 You are seeing the correct storage size.
