sahafiec
hi guys, I'm a Corsair H80i owner for about a year and more than happy with the performance. but there are 2 issues that I'm more and more concerned about. 1. after just 2 system installations one of the screw holes on the rad is bugged out so I have only 3 screws to hold the rad and the 2 fans. this is causing some minor vibration on the whole case. I'm afraid if I have to re-install the rad once more none the screw holes would hold any more. 2. after just 1 year of average usage the inner side of the gaskets of the pump tubes are already disrupted. I don't see any damage on the tubes themselves but I'm really concerned about this situation. the pics of the broken gaskets: http://abload.de/img/corsair_h80i_124lj0.jpg http://abload.de/img/corsair_h80i_2kpu66.jpg http://abload.de/img/corsair_h80i_39buqq.jpg http://abload.de/img/corsair_h80i_48ydyi.jpg how can this happen Corsair? how is this product supposed to last 5 years? who is supposed to install this product and NOT reinstall it again to protect the screw holes? so I need some urgent answers... Latharion
For issue #1, you can RMA the cooler. Some people use slightly longer screws and attach nuts to the ends to hold everything in place, so that is also a possible solution in case submitting an RMA is not desired. For issue #2, this is a cosmetic problem only, and does not compromise the integrity of the tubes at all. The rings are simply a cover the help the asthetics of the unit by disguising the tube connections. Again, an RMA can be initiated if desired, but it is unnecessary if stability of the unit is the only concern.
sahafiec
for #1: thougth about that but I'm afraid to damage the fins leading to a bigger issue. for #2: something made for asthetics is now making the unit really ugly. :[pouts: although the cooler performs as it should I'm not really happy with those issues. I'm not sure if can get the cooler replaced with an RMA but I'm almost sure I won't be able to avoid it next time I re-install the rad.
Latharion
The screw holes are situated such that they will not interfere with the liquid inside the radiator if screws are placed through both sides of it. The fins may bend slightly, but there was a design decision to place the coils far enough in that the screw holes do not interfere at all.
