AUTUMN WIND
Hi I found this topic where I found the answer what do do with 4pin molex from Corsair 500R. http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=116306 But my mainboard has this connector very close and better positioned, so I would love to use it than cable from power supply. Can I connect the 4pin molex from Corsair 500R to this connector on my mainboard? If you need to read manual of my mainboard please use this link. https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8P67_WS_Revolution/HelpDesk_Manual/ Thank you for your help! http://i.imgur.com/9svVpY7.jpg
Corsair Employee Corsair Dustin Posted October 19, 2015 Corsair Employee Share Posted October 19, 2015 You can use the connector from the 500R, *but* that connector still needs to be connected to the power supply.
AUTUMN WIND
Thank you Dustin! Please tell me, what is the point to connect the 4 pin molex from Corsair 500R to the 4 pin mainboard connector, if still I have to use power cable from power supply? I do not understand for what is this port on the mainboard. Can you explain what I will achieve if I will make the connection in the way you described? I mean if I will connect 4 pin molex from Corsair 500R to the mainboard, then on the top of it I will connect molex cable from power supply. AUTUMN WIND
The 4-pin connector from the 500R needs to be plugged into the power supply in order to function and receive power. Thank you Dustin, but... I knew about this before I post here. I have mention about this connection in my first post (solution from another topic). My qestion was. Can I connect the 4pin molex from Corsair 500R to this connector on my mainboard? You can use the connector from the 500R, *but* that connector still needs to be connected to the power supply. So I will ask you one more time. What is the point connect 4pin molex from Corsair 500R to the mainboard and then connect power supply to the same molex? Can you explain me what I will achieve if I make such a connection? Do you know for what is the 4pin connector on my mainboard, and what I can connect to this connector? -------------------------------------------------------------------- I have another qestion. It will be enough power for all devices If I will make connection like this? http://i.imgur.com/oPCxiGu.jpg
Toasted
No. You will need to connect it directly to the PSU. https://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx?id=20110523080703633&board_id=1&model=P8P67+WS+Revolution&page=1&SLanguage=en-us
AUTUMN WIND
Thank you Toasted for this found! But what is the "video subsystem" exactly? Also what more ampacity will give me? Is it some kind of protection for GPU power drop? It is for graphic card so GPU can work better? I have switched from Q9550 so you can imagine my lack of knowledge at this point. System is running already for 18h and so far everything works just fine. Of course I did not use the 4 pin connector on the mainboard (yet)

Toasted
It basically gives more power to the PCIe ports for multiple graphic cards or somewhere on the lines of that.
