Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted May 25, 2012 Corsair Employee Share Posted May 25, 2012 I would not suggest mixing memory even if they were both the exact same part number they may not run at the rated speed when mixing memory.

fortunesfool
Sorry about that, I am currently running an FX-6100 (stock cooling) @ 3.8 Ghz with an ASUS 99X EVO mobo. 750w PSU Radeon HD 6950 It currently has the 2x4GB sticks in it and is running smooth, but would i see performance gains in the online gaming world if I switch to the 2x8GB kit? It would depend on what you do with your computer. If you just use it for games, then no. You wouldn't see any difference. However,If you do things that are memory hogs, like encode video, render and such ,then the greater capacity would help you out and you would see a performance gain there.
