SaiTArIcAn
Hello, i wanted to use my four RAM with the max MHz but i don´t know how. i hope you can help me. In my (UEFI) BIOS i can select the XMP Profile for my RAM which told me that it is 1866 MHz. After Restart my System the BIOS listed four times "4 GB 1866 MHz". But running the tool MemTest86 shows me a lot of failures at Test #6. With the default and auto (1333 MHz) settings in my BIOS the MemTest86 runs without any errors. Did i something wrong or is it not possible to use 4 RAM slots in dual channel with 1866 MHz? My BIOS Version is P2.60.
HOODedAssault
Some AMD chips are quite sensitive to running over 1333mhz speeds. Try setting xmp then manually t dropping ram speed to 1600mhz and see if that passes memtest.
SaiTArIcAn
This worked. Now I got dual channel mode and 1600 MHz. The MemTest86 finished without errors. But how can I run my RAM with 1866 MHz now ?
Corsair Employee Greybeard Posted March 6, 2015 Corsair Employee Share Posted March 6, 2015 Running that 4 x 4 kit @ 1866Mhz with that CPU may get a little tricky. I typically see FX CPU run 1866Mhz with 8 x 2 config, 4x4 its a hit and miss. Try enabling XMP/DOCP (1866) in your BIOS then manually up the DRAM voltage in small increments. If XMP/DOCP selects 1.5v, increase to 1.55v. At this point, its best that you up the CPU/NB voltage as well +0.05v to +0.1v on top of XMP/DOCP pre selected value. You may to manually input the timings as well based on the RAM rated spec, in this case, its 9-10-9-27.
SaiTArIcAn
I think this is to much to do for me. I will run it with 1600 MHz. Thank you very much for the fast help! Next time I will buy 2 x 8 GB kit. :-)
HOODedAssault
No problem man there's very minimal difference anyways.
