First time building from scratch

Recommended Posts

Hi this is the first time I build a system from scratch, hope you find it as nice as I do !

Case : Corsair 450D + 2 Corsair AF 140 Quiet

MB : Asus Strix z270 F

GPU : Asus Strix RX 480 OC

CPU : Intel i5 7600K

PSU : Corsair RM 550x

AIO : Corsair H100i v2 + 2 Corsair ML 120 Fans

RAM : Vorsair Vengeance LED 2*8 Go 3000MHz

SSD : Samsung 850 EVO 250 Go

HDD : Western Digital Black 1 To 2.5"

Keyboard : Corsair K70

Mice : Corsair Sabre Laser RGB

Mousepad : Corsair MM300 XXL

I already wish to add an M2 SSD, and change the exhaust fan with an other ML120.

Later maybe I will change the cable to achieve the black/red theme

Alot of great choices but you've gimped on alot of things.

1. With the benchmarks for gaming are going, you shouldn't overlook getting at least a GTX 1060 graphics card for a new build. Without it you will find your PC won't reach the minimum requirements for alot of games.

2. A 7700K i7 CPU is amazing bang for your buck

3. The 120mm exhaust fan and fans on your radiator really dont need to be upgraded. I hope you're using the radiator as an exhaust and not an intake. I've been doing alot of research on positive vs negative pressure and have found that positive pressure is far superior as long as you use dust filters.

The 450D has full dust filters everywhere. The mesh on the front filter isn't as fine as I'd like it to be but will still get the job done. You would be better off upgrading the front 140mm intake fans that come with the case to Corsair ML 140mm's and leaving the exhaust fans as stock.
