srtek
Which one of the following 16GB options would be my best option for my system which has the following principal components: Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD5 (motherboard) Intel i5-2500K (processor) Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus (CPU cooler) Windows 7 Professional (64-bit) 1) Corsair Vengeance CML16GX3M4X1600C7 (from NewEgg) 2) Corsair Vengeance CML16GX3M4X1600C8 (from Corsair) 3) Corsair Dominator CMP16GX3M4X1600C7 (from NewEgg) Are #1 & #2 above essentially the same thing? Perhaps #2 is more current? Thanks in advance for your help...
Wired
1 or 2. Why would you think 2 is more current than 1?
srtek
Please note that the last digit of the Model numbers of Item #1 and #2 are different by a single digit. Since 8 (in Item #2) is greater than 7 (in Item #1), I did think that Item #2 might be more recent version of the same item. It never occurred to me that you worked for Corsair, but I do appreciate your comments.
Wired
Yes, I'm aware that the part numbers are different. The last digit has nothing to do with when it was made (neither does the version number). Read this: Memory Part Number Breakdown The last number is the CAS Latency. LOWER is better. However, you probably won't notice the difference. Also, the Corsair comment's in my sig, wasn't directed towards anyone in particular.
srtek
Thanks for the information. Is there a better solution, in your opinion, than the two I'm considering?
