Synthohol
flashing firmware to a Corsair flash drive is not a user supported function AFAIK and is only done at your own risk and voids the warranty. looks like you are running to the store to buy a new one.fwiw i found the same exact version very easy UT165 1.65.25.0http://cid-f9c2f78fed9f61d4.skydrive.live.com/browse.aspx/U%E7%9B%98%E9%87%8F%E4%BA%A7%E5%B7%A5%E5%85%B7/USBest Edited June 4, 2010 by Synthohol

hdthree
This method did not work for me. I downloaded the windows98 image app and mounted that to a cd. I then booted to the cd and it fired up it said I was missing a parallel ide driver and continued with out it. I went into fdisk and preceded to follow the guide I could not delete a partition since the flash drive did not have one so I just created skipped that step and created a new logical partition on the drive. After almost an hour of verifying the device it asked me if I wanted to use the whole device I hit yes then waited another hour or so for that to verify and got to the final screen showing me the drive has a primary dos partition on it. But when I went into w7 to try and reformat the drive I was unable and the drive still shows flat 0's for free space, used space, and total space. A side note I forgot to mention before each disk integrity verification took over an hour. Do you know of any other methods I can use to fix this issue with my flash drive? Or if I made a mistake please point it out and I will retry your guide. Edited September 19, 2010 by hdthree

rajeew
There's characters on the USB connector, correct? RMA the drive. It says SM334AC Card Reader in the Safe Removal Dialog box when connected. It detects and asks me to format it. In the formatting dialog box, it only shows 31.5mb and can't be formatted. Currently I am in a Asian country, It'll take few months to get back. Isn't there anything I can do my self to fix this ? Thnx. PS: Ignore this IP, as these countries do not allow some sites and I had to use US based IP. shindig
I have the same problem as Choto Cheeta. Sorry, but if tech support for a shoddy product basically equates to downloading outdated software programs and tons of steps to follow and even THEN it doesn't guarantee 100% success, the best thing to do is avoid the product altogether. To use a win 98 boot disk just to fdisk... but if you don't have a floppy... then you need tons of other programs to make a bootable cd without a floppy...etc...etc..etc. What a joke! Why doesn't Corsair spend some money to have one of their techies build a program that will fix these problems? I'll pass on buying anymore USB flash drives, especially Corsair. No, you don't need a floppy drive and yes, we already have built a utility to help with all sorts of things. It's in the HOW TO section; How To Make the Ultimate Bootable Flash Drive. You can use it for this and many other things.

colex
Hello Folks, Today I have had bad luck with same problem in discussion here with my Corsair Voyager Mini 16GB! In first instance I have felt the same situation of the user Adanec. http://i.imgur.com/ciUTu.jpg And on my VAIO notebook.. http://i.imgur.com/5TqMm.jpg Then, I have also tried to throw the FDISK command on Windows 98SE CD but, without any result, the command to cancel the partition of my Corsair USB key is not carried out, the PC work a pair of minutes and the cursor blink in the windos (sorry for the flashlight) http://i.imgur.com/0w1OU.jpg and after it return the message displayed in the pics! http://i.imgur.com/AZZy7.jpg Please any help... Or I must to go with RMA? Thanks in advance. Sergio Edited May 18, 2012 by colex

colex
Try using the DISKPART utility in WIN7 to CLEAN the drive and make a new partition. Thanks for suggestion, but I tried that command, without any resolution... Discouraged and after many attempts, yesterday I sent my Voyager Mini 16GB with another 32GB "died" prematurely after six months of regular use, to Corsair EU in the Netherlands for replacement. Thanks for your support!

miztrniceguy
My 32GB Voyager is 6 yrs old, so not under warranty. It's been sitting for 5 yrs, since I last wrote to it, and I decided to use it to store an img of a brand new computer, once I make it. Aaaaaand it says write protected. I have tried several suggestions, including the regedit and the first one as I do happen to have a 98SE disk, but it isn't seeing the voyager. I have tried on several computers using DISKPART with win7 PRO and WIN 10 Pro. Also tried Acronis, which doesn't see it. Any suggestions other than the "format tool" that Media Fire says was uploaded from Iran?
