Tunatron
Is there something I'm not noticing? While the waterblock sits on the CPU, the bracket isn't close enough to the board for the standoffs to go through the holes. Backplate mounts slightly wiggly, using the right standoffs.. Toasted
If possible, please take a picture of the backplate installed. The mounts being slightly wiggly is fine.
Tunatron
I'm using a replacement intel mounting kit that was sent to me. I was using the new stand offs with the old bracket. The new standoffs are a bit shorter than the old ones, and the new bracket has larger holes which look like the new thumbscrews are able to fit partially through it. Here's a pic of the hardware. On the left is the block with original bracket, thumbscrews and a standoff. On the right is the replacement bracket, thumbscrews, and a standoff. http://i.imgur.com/U4ijAEn.jpg The install failure was using the original bracket with new standoffs. Though the larger holes and thinner thumbscrews on the new stuff looks like it will solve that problem. Are there any issues with the differences? Will it mount securely with the larger holes on the new bracket?
Corsair Employee Corsair Dustin Posted November 20, 2014 Corsair Employee Share Posted November 20, 2014 The pressure from the mounting screws will keep the block secure. You should be fine.
Tunatron
So using the new stand offs with the old bracket was my original problem?
