gatecrasherlok
Hey guys I currently own an Corsair X128 which has been a great performer for me so far that I want to add another one. However I was wondering if it is just possibel to add another one dedicated for games as another drive without Raid. I'm waiting for full TRIM compatabilty before raiding the SSD's. Can anyone tell me if this is possible to have just an ssd dedicated to games with out raid. Sorry for sounding noobish but when it comes to the ever changing SSD's, I just cannot find myself keeping up. Thanks in advance.
oldbrave
I see no problems with having as second stand alone SSD in your system, it should be no different than adding another HD. I hope you realize that at this time Trim doesn't work with a Raid configuration.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted February 5, 2010 Corsair Employee Share Posted February 5, 2010 I would Raid them if you get two and just use Diskeeper to keep them up to top performance. But TRIM will not function in a RAID array at this time. The controller driver will have to be updated to support the Trim Command.
Psycho101
You will, as RAM Guy said be waiting a very long time for TRIM. You can go ahead and RAID0 them now then flash to the FW update when it's released. The update will contain improved Garbage Collection designed to keep SSD's on non-TRIM OS's and in RAID in good order.
