ex313
If I understand the breakdown of the XMS3 line if DDR3 ram correctly. All the simms pictured below are actually the same 4GB 1333 C9 module, even though they carry different part numbers as part of their original modular packaging. Am I correct? Corsair Employee Corsair StormShadow Posted March 22, 2018 Corsair Employee Share Posted March 22, 2018 If I understand the breakdown of the XMS3 line if DDR3 ram correctly. All the simms pictured below are actually the same 4GB 1333 C9 module, even though they carry different part numbers as part of their original modular packaging. Am I correct? well they all have the same frequency but not every stick have the same capacity. 1st: this is a part of a dual-channel kit. v. 8.16 2nd: this is a part of a quad-channel kit. v. 2.21 3rd: this a SINGLE channel kit. v. 5.11 Would these modules work together? well, they could but not guarantee since they all have different version #. How to decipher memory PN: CM = Corsair Memory X =series identifier 8G = The capacity of the kit X3M = DDR3 memory 2A = the number of module in this kit 1333 = frequency C9 = CAS latency rating
ex313
When you say kit, I assume that it means multiple pieces. So If I wanted to pair the first stick with something it would have to match? Is the first stick 1/2 of 8gb?

You would have to match it down to the version #. So the second module also needs to be v. 8.
