redmist
hi- i'm sure this has been asked before- but i want to hear it (see it) for myself. i am using my computer mostly for photoshop, music, and games :) i'm am planning on running XP and although i'd like to overclock some- i might not as i've heard that the P4 3.0 isn't a great overclocker. what ram should i buy with money not a consideration? any other alternatives? :):
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted December 19, 2003 Corsair Employee Share Posted December 19, 2003 Welcome to the forum! The best choice would be, if you can find them XMS3500C2 or Twinx1024-3200LL and set the Dim Voltage to 2.75 Volts. Or if your CPU will run it Twinx1024-3700 would also work well with this MB and CPU.

Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted December 19, 2003 Corsair Employee Share Posted December 19, 2003 Many of the CPU's 2.8 Ghz and above will not over clock as well as 2.4C or 2.6C CPU's. In fact I have a 2.8C that I can not get over 220Mhz and have it be stable.
giorgione
Hi redmist I also have a p4@3Ghz on p4c800e. Since I wanted to experiment with oveclocking, I got 2 dimms of xms3500c2. The memory runs fine 2/3/3/6 at FSB 217. But my system generates a LOT of heat. I'm not going to overclock on a regular basis again, I prefer a more quiet system. So now I kind of regret not having gone for the 3200LL...
giorgione
Typo in my previous post. It's CMX3500, not xms as I wrote.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted December 23, 2003 Corsair Employee Share Posted December 23, 2003 You can try and run these modules ar Cass 2-3-2-6 at DDR400 They should run with out problem at 2.75 Volts on this MB.
