Alternative K70 Controll Program (v1.02)

Hey Guys - i've managed to create an alternative Control Software for the K70RGB (possible the K65/K95 too - but untested)



It's completely XML based config is easy to handle and powerful to use (its free of limitations of switching colors and animations on keypress and hold - unlinkt the CUE) - like Highlight some keys while pressing CTRL or CTRL-Shift.

The only poroblem i've got: I've got only one German-Layout-Keyboard.
Could some of you grab the software, copy the Layout.german.xml and create more Layoutfiles for that software?

Or just playing around a bit?

Suggestions, whishes and issuereporting are more than welcome :D

Like it? Create a Theme or Bugreports pls :)

Most crashes rely on not catched xml errors. If it crashes - send the theme xml to me... So i could parse it more robust.

I haven't tested yet but I have a k95 so we'll see how it goes ..

I dont think it will work out of the box :(
The USB identifier ist different. I'll try to add support in next version.

ok so I can't launch it, it comes up in the tray but then when I mouse over it it disappears. What do you think

Of cause, K95 has got another USB DeviceID - i'm looking into it

I'll try my very best. But i'll guess i should try to create K70 Profiles for different Layouts first and get this thing stable, before implementing K95

v1.03 is out
With lots of improovements - and ... an EXPERIMENTAL US Layout file


Let me know, if it's better now.
BTW: It could be, that you need to adjust with the "led" values in the US.Theme file - i could not check if they're correct.

Have fun - and post the results!

Secondly:
I've added EXPERIMENTAL Support for K95...
I dont know if it works at all - just try and report!

And - last but not least:
The software creates a log.txt in the working directory. (thats where the exe file is)

Forgot to mention:
To try - just create a folder on Desktop. i dont know if the app gots file read/write permissions when in C:/ProgramFiles/ folder, etc

I can run the program with my K95, the G-keys are completely unutilized, but the rest works fine.

really?

Great! so that means - the keys wont work - (lack of macros) or the led does not lite up?

Macros don't work and the LED's light up in sort of random colors (The G1 key is purple in one profile and red in another. Most others are plain white).

Yeah - that is because, there is no profile yet for the K95 in your layout...

Go ahead and try to create one - it is not impossible :D
Just playing around with led adresses and scancodes.

Note: The scancodes will shown in the debug console activated with the checkmark. Note, the console will have limited content space - sometimes you need to clear it (with the button below).

i will be glad if someone will create one.

Macros: My Software is currently "light control only" - but it wont be "rocket sience" to implement some sort of macro function to it.

My current challenge is to get the light control stable and powerful on much more Kxx Devices and Layouts.

So please tell me:
- Does the "rest" (k70 parts) works correctly?
- Is the layout correctly mapped?
- is the "rainbow" theme stable?
