antonyfrn
i'm thinking of replacing the stock 140mm fans with some EK Varder F3, anyone know if they will work with the cooler. These are the fans I'm thinking of using http://www.scan.co.uk/products/140mm-ek-vardar-f3-140er-pwm-high-static-pressure-fan-2000-rpm-108-cfm-max-air-flow-407-dba-noise-le http://www.scan.co.uk/products/140mm-ek-furious-vardar-ff4-140-pwm-high-static-pressure-fan-2500-rpm-144-cfm-max-air-flow-484-dba-n
c-attack
Assuming you mean H110 GT for the 140mm fans and they are 4 pin PWM, they should be fine. Amperage checks in at 0.20A and that's well within limits.
antonyfrn
Cheers so you think I could get away with them in push & pull with some PWN y-splitters.
c-attack
At 0.8A total for 4 fans, I think you still have a safe margin for error. I don't know if you really need push-pull. In my current configuration, my 5820 pulls about 175W on a heavier full core stress test, with temps staying below 66-68C on my two abnormally hot cores with any two 140mm fans on my older H110. The other 4 are down at 58-60. Looking at 6700k benchmarks last night, it looks like you need to pass 1.40V before you get to that level of power draw and you would still be relatively cool. I am not sure anybody needs push-pull on a 280mm unless you deliberately select weak fans or do it for aesthetic reasons.
