mph
Context I've been getting frequent BSODs, and have read that it might be due to my SSD. I understand that updating the firmware may help with stability issues. Problem When I attempt to update my firmware with the Corsair SSD Toolbox, it recognises my drive but indicates that the update has failed. When I attempt to manually update with the Corsair Field Updater, it does not even recognise my SSD (unlike the Toolbox) How can I update my firmware to the latest version? mph
Hi Yellowbeard - thanks for the quick response. I tried powering down my machine, but I still have the same problem. It appears that these other users were able to succesfully implement the firmware but the version ID did not change, whereas I can't even update the firmware. Are the toolbox / manual update compatible with marvell controllers? If it would help, I could temporarily move my drive to another bay.
Toasted
No, the firmware updater does not support Marvell Controllers. You need to plug the drive into a AMD/Intel SATA port for it to detect in field updater. When it detects the drive, Use the FW 5.05a update file to update it via field updater as the SSD Toolbox does not support 1.3 updating to 5.0 Please note that we currently do not support upgrading old 1.3.x FW to 5.0x FW on Sandforce based drives. Users of 1.3.x firmwares will still need to update to 5.xx firmwares using the Sandforce based FW update process found in the SSD Firmware Update section. http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=118314
mph
Hi Toasted - thanks for the help! I swapped it to a SATA bay and it worked fine.
