Hi all, we have a new firmware available.

Please go to Settings -> Device -> Update Firmware and your device will be updated with new firmware. For K65/K70/K95 RGB keyboards, this will be version 1.15 and M65 RGB/Sabre Optical/Sabre Laser mice will be version 1.16.

This is a significant firmware update that resolves many of the issues that have been commonly reported including LED(s) staying on during PC Sleep Mode. We recommend that everyone update their peripheral(s).

Corsair Gaming RGB Keyboards (K65 RGB / K70 RGB / K95 RGB)

Firmware 1.15 Release Notes

  • Disabled keyboard lighting when no USB activity and system is off or asleep (an issue for systems with USB ports powered when shut down).
  • Resolved issue with keyboard waking system from sleep.
  • Rapid Caps/Num/Scroll key presses will no longer cause a CUE malfunction.
  • Resolved CUE timeout issues.
  • Resolved issue with LED brightness changing on key press while the keyboard is in BIOS mode.
  • Resolved issue with the firmware update process and certain USB drivers (that are also handling slow USB devices like card readers).
  • Resolved issues between CUE and Steam application with certain system configurations.
  • Miscellaneous improvements to keyboard integration with CUE.

Corsair Gaming RGB Mice (M65 RGB/Sabre Optical RGB/Sabre Laser RGB)

Firmware 1.16 Release Notes

  • Corrected Angle Snapping issue.
  • All mice should now wake system from sleep on left/right button press.
  • M65 RGB scroll wheel now displays the proper color on both sides of the wheel.
  • Resolved issues between CUE and Steam application with certain system configurations.
  • Miscellaneous improvements to mouse integration with CUE

Awesome, installed on my K70 RGB, going to go boot up Linux and see if it resolves the issues with BIOS and GRUB.

EDIT:

Nope.

The keyboard didn't work in BIOS or GRUB. I spammed DEL at the BIOS logo screen after rebooting from Windows but to no avail, it booted normally into GRUB where the keyboard provided no input and I had to fall back on an old Dell to select Linux. I then flipped the selector switch (from "1" all the way to "BIOS") but the keyboard did not appear to do anything and key input was still ignored. Flipped switch back to "1" and booted Linux, no response at the login prompt. I waited at least a minute as it often takes 10+ seconds to identify but still nothing. Unplugged and plugged back in (USB 3.0 port, single connector) and it was detected after reconnecting. Still took 10+ seconds to become functional, but I am typing on it now.

I have the old K70 as well, and it has no issues operating in BIOS at all, even in "1" mode. I never have to switch the BIOS selector switch on it to do anything, and when I do switch it it seems to respond immediately while the RGB does not. I read that Scroll Lock LED should blink in BIOS mode, but switching the selector switch causes no such behavior. At least the brightness didn't randomly cycle while trying to type, that is fixed.

Edit 2:

In Linux I m ble to switch into BIOS mode, but certn letter isn't working for some reson. Guess which one it is? It still took severl seconds to be detected. Cn I type cpitl ? Guess not. QWERTYUIOPSDFGHJKL:ZXCVBNM<>? qwertyuiopsdfjkl;zxcvbnm,./

I might be wrong but most computers I work with on a daily basis does not support a keyboard in the USB3 port during system boot up.

So doing things like entering the bios or choosing OS on startup simply doesn't work with any keyboard in a USB3 port.

Have you tried doing the 2x USB2 port option and then see what happens?

*edit* Looked at your sys specs and if you are still on the old X58 platform it for sure shouldn't let you use the keyboard in the usb3 port. I have the same issue on a daily(hourly) basis hooking up my kvm to usb by accident and not being able to do anything on computers during boot up.

The rest of the problems you have I can't speak for but I hope that little bit helps?

Ok, I plugged it into a USB2.0 port and it does work in BIOS mode. It's still flaky though, it seems that it won't actually reset into BIOS mode by flipping the switch, I have to flip the switch and then reconnect for it to actually take affect. I'm left it in BIOS mode and it worked in Linux right away, but the scroll light flashing makes this not a suitable permanent option. It also doesn't respond to LED commands in BIOS mode.

So I just flipped the switch to the "1" position and am now typing on my spare KB because it's not responding. It did appear to "reboot" (LEDs shut off and came back on, Scroll Lock stopped blinking) but now it's unresponsive. Kernel log (dmesg) shows:

[ 324.101834] usbhid: probe of 5-2:1.2 failed with error -110

So I can either have it work in BIOS by connecting it to USB2.0 or I can have it work in Linux by connecting it to USB3.0, or I can have it work in both with no LED control. Why can't it just work in all 3? There's obviously still some USB initialization issue going on.

Not on the original K70. Just plugged mine in. It's currently in "1". Now to switch tio BIOS. Now it's back up and running almost instantly. LEDs flickered briefly and Scroll Lock is now flashing. Now switching back...And we're back, another brief flicker and Scroll Lock is off. Kernel log says:

Which shows it clearly disconnects/reconnects when I flip the switch even though I didn't unplug it. This is on USB2.0.

making new updates available to download instead of depending on your **** software that fails to check for a update would be nice. Also now I can't update it with old firmware versions that used to work after downloading the new CUE....

hmmmm can't quite get your problem. Seems to work for me. Perhaps you can go in and delete the old installs and start fresh.

So my keyboard now works slightly better with my system (after updating CUE and firmware) - however it is far from perfect. Here is a list of issues;

-If plugged in via USB3.0, demo mode will show when PC is off.

-Direct mode selection switching does not work at all - very very frustrating.

-Even if direct mode selection was to work, it would be useless as there is no way to set up an action so that mode selection and key press is recognised, ie SelectMode1 + keypress.Q

-Still experience issues with keyboard not working properly at startup (lighting does not work and apart from key use, the keyboard seems unresponsive) - even after updating CUE and firmware and using alternative fixes.

-No mute key indicator - not a big issue but a bit annoying

-Saving to device memory does not save anything from what I have experienced.

Hope these issues may be fixed soon as I am starting to regret buying this keyboard altogether.

1.) Disable any type of USB power charging on your motherboard and demo mode will not come on. We're thinking of removing the demo mode entirely since most people find it a distraction and it seems many of the motherboards go outside of USB spec and continue to provide power on by default.

2.) How are you setting the direct mode switching? This sounds like a separate bug.

3.) This isn't a bug but a feature request that would require a substantial overhaul to the software.

4.) What motherboard and BIOS version do you have? This seems to happen intermittently on different motherboards.

5.) I'll make sure to ask why we can't set an indicator on the Mute Key.

6.) Saving to device memory only saves the performance settings (polling, windows lock key preferences) and static background color.

My motherboard does do USB charging when off - so I can just turn that off to fix that then.

2.) How are you setting the direct mode switching? This sounds like a separate bug.

http://s30.postimg.org/w6akueech/Capture.png

For my direct mode switching, I have 3 different modes and I set a key, say F2, to directly switch to the mode to the second mode and say, F3 to set to the third mode. These are duplicated in all of the modes. The issue is that whenever I use the direct mode switching - it does not switch between the modes, it just stays on the same mode.

3.) This isn't a bug but a feature request that would require a substantial overhaul to the software.

I understand that this would be a feature but I would've thought that you would be able to set up a macro where it emulates a key press and then switches the mode, ie

keyinput.K

1ms wait

Modeswitch.B

4.) What motherboard and BIOS version do you have? This seems to happen intermittently on different motherboards.

I don't believe the motherboard to be the issue as a restart of CUE at startup works around this issue. Here is the information anyway;

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3

Bios Version and Date: Award Software International Inc. F2 17/5/2011

SMBIOS version: 2.4

5.) I'll make sure to ask why we can't set an indicator on the Mute Key.

Cheers, that would be helpful.

6.) Saving to device memory only saves the performance settings (polling, windows lock key preferences) and static background color.

Oh I see, does the flash storage on the keyboard not have enough space to store lighting effects etc?

Thanks for the response.

Yeah and I still have the same issues of Keyboard Malfunction, more and more everyday I regret buying this keyboard.

I am having to unplug my keyboard multiple times a day to get it off malfunction.

It does not seem to matter whether I browse the net, play a game this very expensive keyboard is extremely frustrating.

Just a thought, can you plug the keyboard into another computer and see if you get the same errors? If so maybe there is a problem with the keyboard. If not perhaps update bios, go in and remove completely all the software. What ports are you plugging the keyboard into USB 2.0 3.0 if 3.0 are you only using the one plug? Are you having any conflicts in device manager with usb ports or keyboard drivers? Lots of people here will try to help just give as much info as you can.

Re-installed CUE and updated RGB K70 firmware to 1.15

Steam still lags on opening (freezing keyboard animations until restart).

Kodi/XBMC also stops responding at initial loading screen.

Will keep checking the forums for new firmware updates but re-uninstalling CUE until there's a fix.

I notice that you have the older version of CUE, go to the download site and download and install the new CUE. This may help you out a bit.

Steam still causes color change to stop responding - not even indicator lights are lighting up.

I believe that the font smoothing, for some unknown reason, contributes to this problem. You may have to disable this in Steam by going to settings > Interface > Disable Direct Write

I only own one PC, and I have tried both methods (USB2&3), No conflicts in device manager, I reinstalled the CUE software to the latest edition within an hour another malfunction. These malfunctions come whenever they feel like it whether I am gaming, browsing the net etc it is pure randomness.

Has anyone else been having issues actually updating their keyboard? For me when I go to update it it just tried for a few seconds then spits out "Failed to update device firmware". Also in general I haven't been able to update my firmware since I got it on my desktop. I always have to plug it into a different computer and then it updates just fin. I've tried re-installing the software a few times and I've tried it with both USB 2.0 and 3.0, but its no go.
