006andahalf
I currently have a matched pair of 256 mb 3200LLPT v1.1 (the ones with the BH-5 and 2225 timings) and I am trying to determine (since bh5 512 modules are extremely hard to find) which or if either the 3200XL v1.1 (with samsung chips) or the 3200LL 1.2 would work with the 256's in my asus a7nux deluxe (rev. 1007) board. I havent yet seen a post quite addressing this problem where the specs appear so close for a couple of different modules. My guess is that they won't work or not well, but one can always hope. Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted August 12, 2004 Corsair Employee Share Posted August 12, 2004 I would try and find a CMX512-3200LL Rev 1.1 or Rev. 1.2 and run the timings to Cass 2-3-2-6 with the Rass to Cass set to "3" and set the Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts. However, if you cannot find Rev 1.1 or 1.2, I would see if you can find another use for these and just get a Twinx1024-3200XL!
006andahalf
I found a 512 PC3500C2 v1.1 which has the BH5 chips. From what I've read, the C2 3500 is basically the same thing as the 3200LL, just with a different sticker slapped on. Is this a correct assumption? Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted August 13, 2004 Corsair Employee Share Posted August 13, 2004 Well yes and no! XMS3500C2 is based on -5 Rev B Winbond and XMS3200LL Rev 1.1 would be based on the same IC but the SPD is set to Cass 2-2-2-6 and tested at that setting. Where as XMS3500C2 was tested at Cass 2-3-3-7 at DDR433 and the SPD was set to Cass 2.5-3-3-8! Later revisions of XMS3200LL were based on Winbond -5 Rev C and then Infineon -5 Rev B and set to Cass 2-3-2-6!
