beefybarn
Brought 16gb of the above ram with the idea of using it with my Asus B150 Pro board. Installed the latest version of Corsair link software and it detects the ram but there is no LED tab for changing the colours or effect. Now reading up on this I am unsure whether this will work with my board or if I need to have a Z170 or Z270 chipset board, any help or advice appreciated thanks. red-ray
The B150 chipset SMBus controller is exactly the same SMBus controller as the Z170 has so there should not be any issues.
beefybarn
Well tried uninstalling and reinstalling CL4 but still the same problem, ram detected but no led control, colour or effect, beginning to wish I had stuck with my Avexir reds. red-ray
I suspect it's a CL4 bug rather than a hardware issue and wonder if the DDR4 RGB LEDs show up on the SMBus. If they do then CL4 needs to be fixed. It would be far clearer if you posted the CL4 [Home] tab, see http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?p=853900 for how to attach a file/screen image to a post. The Menu->System->SMB Bus panel of my SIV utility will tell you and should report similar to as below. It would also be interesting to see what Menu->Hardware->DIMM Status reports. beefybarn
Well got my hands on a Asus Z270H board and everything working as it should now, did not even reinstall windows or Corsair link, just swapped boards.
