Default AX 750 fan noise - should i RMA ?

Hi,

i am having a noise issue with the fan in my AX 750. It produces a high pitched whine, which while it is at low noise level, it is very noticeable due it's high pitched nature. Here is a video of it (you can hear that when the fan stops, the noise stops as well; ignore various background noises like that clicking, that is my stupid chair ) :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CdF5jy3oaCI

The only difference between having a microphone this close to the fan and a normal distance to me is that i don't hear the small electronic buzzing you can hear in the video, the high pitched whine is very noticeable even at 1-2m distance (as the rest of the setup is relatively silent).

I had exactly the same issue with a PSU from the other brand on which AX 750 is based , which was replaced after some communication, because the RMA guys at that specific distributor "didn't hear anything".

Now my questions are :
1) it is possible to RMA this noise (you will probably only replace the fan)
2) how can i asure that the local RMA will go through smoothly (hopefully a link to this thread with an official answer would be enough for them).

1) Yes , you can RMA the PSu if the noise is too loud for you.

2) Corsair really does not have any say on local retailers practices. Some countries have different laws regarding returns and RMA's so you would have to abide by their policy's.
However , you can always send the PSU to Corsair directly and let them replace it. That i can guarantee you will go smooth. They will just replace the PSU regardless.

peanutz94, the issue is that manual says :
Quote:
Exclusions
This warranty does not cover problems or damage resulting from, but not limited to, any
of the following:
1. Wear and tear associated with normal use
Is fan whine part of "wear and tear" or not ? And if yes, what is the point of multi-year warranty if you can't fix the problem with noisy fan yourself without breaking the warranty, but warranty won't cover the fix because it is "wear and tear" ?

That is not considered as wear and tear. You can certainly RMA the PSU if the fan noise is too loud.
