Megajunn
Here I am again - opening my pc case and blowing magic dust in it. After 3.1 installation I lost connection with link mini and basically it's totally useless (if anyone wants to buy it, i will give you very special price). I have done almost everything - used different inputs - cut the power before turning on my PC and all the mambo jambo you can ever want to do (and i was really hoping this will be out of the box and play kit - noup). Problems before the 3.1 installation: Link soft didn't show CPU temperatures and load. Also 4 temp sensors didn't show results in main interface. But there was some data showing up when you made the right click on the small icon, which shows the small information menus. Also it forget light settings after a while and you had to reset them all the time. But i still managed to change light settings and fan speed. After 3.1 installation: Link soft shows real time CPU temps and loads (I was like OMG this is working), but soon after that I was so disappointed when i realized that It didn't show my ventilators and temp sensors + light kit was totally gone from the menu. WTF corsair. I even installed windows 7 on it (cause It had less problems as I have find out in forums), but still with no success using link mini as it should work. So I installed Win 8.1 back. The light on the mini unit doesn't blink - it's just green - what means it doesn't communicate (I guess) - so If anyone has suggestions I'm all over it. Also I ordered that stuff: http://www.nzxt.com/product/detail/99-iu01-usb-expansion-case-accessory.html some claimed it helped them to get their unit working as it should, what do you think about it - at least it's a long shot. Also can you flash the soft on the light and link mini? You know - like you can do with graphics card etc. If so then where I can get bios for them and soft to do it. Added some rig shots too: Link mini + light unit - as mentioned before - it's just green USB connectors - i have tried them all The type of motherboard I'm using Some shorts from system - as you can see It's like missing the driver, no matter what link version I will install - 2.5 - 2.7 - 3.1 you name it... Megajunn
Also fan 5 and 6 are ghosts - I don't have them (only two free inputs).
Toasted
Have you tried deleting the files generated from the previous LINK software? Please Note you must delete any saved Profiles and uninstall the old version and reboot the system before you install the latest software. Uninstall the Corsair Link software through Windows Control Panel Go to file explorer, enable "Show hidden files, folder and drives" Delete the following directory: C:\Users\"System name"\AppData\Roaming\Corsair (This directory is also used to store custom profiles for other Corsair products. You may want to save this directory on a different location so you won’t lose other profiles) Restart your system Install the new Corsair Link software
Megajunn
Yeah I have tried this one, sadly it didn't work. But today when i turned my PC on, my fans, light and temp icons where active - but they where still red, but with numbers on them :D - but after restart they where just zero again. Specter
Uninstall all corsair link software. Delete the C:\Users\"System name"\AppData\Roaming\Corsair Run a clean up program such as CCleaner to clean the registry. Shutdown the PC. Turn off the power supply and hold the power button on the PC for about 10 seconds to discharge any power left in the system. Now, connected the Commander Mini to USB header (not the always on/ quick charge one) then connect the lighting node to the commander mini (do not connect it to the USB header while it is connected to the Mini). Now, disable your antivirus, and run the corsair link installer as Admin. Let us know how it goes.
Megajunn
At first that did the trick: but after restart it's like this again: so i think that "10 seconds to discharge any power" somehow helps, but it's like one time thingy - after restart fans and lights are gone again (but for example light settings are like I modified them - which is good right, but they are still quite useless if I can't control them without "full" shutdown). Hmm, maybe that NZXT Internal USB Expansion will do the trick for me (cause it's seems like the USB header problem related with motherboard manufacture - which i already actually regret a bit). Anyway the expansion should arrive in 13th March or so we will see. I will keep you guys updated is it working or not. Uninstall all corsair link software. I find if I "end task" corsair Link from task manager and relaunch the program about 3 out of 10 times it would start up and detect everything. With your system it seems to have issues detecting the Commander Mini.
Megajunn
As promised - today I got myself NZXT Internal USB Expansion AND IT'S WORKING MOTAFAKAA!!!! I can do restarts, shut it down and all the regular mambo jambo and it's working. If anyone reads this - buy it and give it a try (it's 26$ or so http://www.amazon.com/NZXT-IU01-Internal-Expansion-Black/dp/B0031ESKJA). If it's working for you too you may give me virtual high five :D
Corsair Employee Corsair Dustin Posted March 18, 2015 Corsair Employee Share Posted March 18, 2015 That's really strange. I mean I'm glad you got the problem solved, but it shouldn't have been a problem in the first place.
Megajunn
I really believe it's related with my motherboard or it's USB ports. But as I found the rumor about NZXT and Link - I had to try it. And indeed it's cool that it works. A bit off topic question - in what temperature the liquid in my corsair radiator will freeze (I know it's very unlikely to happen, but what if one day, I want to place it to outdoor in winter time or insert it into liquid nitrogen or something :D )? I know there is something like antifreeze/water mix inside it, but it would be interesting to know.
