Marco76 Posted April 22, 2016 Share Posted April 22, 2016 Hi everyone, after some months of correct funcionality, I have a problem with the HX750i PSU. When I power it up (by its own switch, or when the switch is in "on" position and I turn on the power switch on the multiple power socket) i get a "tick" noise from the PSU and the system won't start... Corsair Wizard Posted April 22, 2016 Share Posted April 22, 2016 Marco, This sounds like a typical PSU problem. What trouble shooting steps have you tried? Things I would start with. 1. Check connections All the connections seem perfeclty fit and stable (very good plastic on connectors). 3. Try the PSU with another existing system. Unfortunately I don't own another system. 4. I've tryed with another HX750i (borrowed one from a friend whom I've suggested it) and I've got the same problem. I can start my system one out of twenty times... Any idea? Why? Jrocktech Posted May 24, 2016 Share Posted May 24, 2016 Hi. Please be careful. When my HX750i did this with my ASUS ROG motherboard the motherboard ended up going up in smoke. The MOSFETS were bad, so the strong power current from my HX750i killed the Mobo and took with my CPU with it. It was the same thing, click. nothing, click. nothing. Then one time poof. So it isn't the MB, it isn't the PSU (I've tried with a new HX750i - the one of my friend before installin it, brand new...) MAYBE... THE CABLE??? I've tried with an "empty" MB (no RAM, no CPU, nothing...) - HX750i, same old problem... - Old Cooler Master 700W PSU, works like a charm... There is a way to get an ATX 24pin (10+14 on the other side) as per replacemente from Corsair? I would either return it or request Corsair to RMA it via https://corsair.secure.force.com/home/home.jsp. There is an express RMA so you get the new PSU and then return the old one. I've tried with a NEW PSU (same model) and had the same problem (but I haven't swapped the old ATX cable...) About RMA, I'm in Italy, where need the PSU be shipped? jfjer Posted June 18, 2016 Share Posted June 18, 2016 i having the same issue day one when i built the new PC HX750i worked like a dream day two it would not start, and now i have the click noise too in the psu , my PC almost start for a half second but then it dies, when i try my old cheap corsair CX 600 watts it works like a dream apart from the fan noise, so much for getting a platinum PSU, it cant even power up my old 2500k i5 its very disappointing and i have never once in my life encountered this in any PSU, and i have built my own PC`s for over 20 years any suggestions ? jfjer Posted January 20, 2018 Share Posted January 20, 2018 two HX750i units faulty here now the first one died and gave me the click noise afer only a coupple of days i got my money back for the first one after some waiting the second one lasted barely two years i just bought a 1080 ti today and the freaking hx thing died before i even got to try the new gfx card im so dissapointed in these units, especially because they are so good when they works my 10 years 600 watt cheap PSU came to the rescue how about that haha i think i need to be careful not maxing the ti though im not sure a old 600 watt bronze will be enough under full load im never going to buy a corsair platinum ever again , a platinum PCU with a platinum price should really give some lifespan Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Well looks like I joined this club today. I picked up a HX750i last night from Microcenter so I could add PSU functionality to my Link screen. Pulled out my perfectly working EVGA 650B3, rewired the whole system with these um, how do I say it, shi*ty "ribbon" style cables that come with the HXi. Started everything up and worked great, saw PSU output, voltages, single/multi rail and fan customization..... for about 12 hours. In the middle of playing Battlefront 2, the entire system dies, straight black. I touch the top power button (Phanteks Evolv ATX TG) to boot it back up and I get a pop and fizzing sound from the HX750, but no power. Flipping the hard switch on the back of the PSU seems to work for now. But it happens pretty much any time I shut the computer down and try to start it back up without flipping the hard switch on the back. Now, the HXi isn't showing up in Link for some reason. I'm used to re-enabling the USB device to get the H115i to show; but even then, no HXi stats any more. Guess I have to to AX/RMi? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
