risk_reversal
Hi, Ordered this unit a couple of days ago and have a quick question re the 12 volt rail. The specs to the RM650i state that this unit can be run 'either in single 12v Rail Mode or Multi 12v Rail Mode' (as per tech specs in link below). http://www.corsair.com/en-gb/rmi-series-rm650i-650-watt-80-plus-gold-certified-fully-modular-psu The following page states that 'multiple +12v Rail is set by Default but is Switchable to Single +12v Rail using Link software'. http://www.corsair.com/en-ww/blog/2015/june/rm-rmi-hxi Question: If using the Corsair Link utility to set the psu to single rail mode, is this a permanent change? or is it set via software. By that I mean, if I set the unit to single rail 12v through the Link utility and then uninstall 'Link', will the psu remember the 12v single rail setting. I hope that I have explained this clearly. Many thanks for any help provided Cheers
Corsair Mike
Hi risk_reversal, No that isn't a permanent change you can switch back and forth in software. Although it would remember the change via the PSU's firmware until you switch it back. Hope that helps
risk_reversal
Most kind. A final question. From what you say, if I dual boot Linux & Win 7 and change the 12v rail to single rail operation in the Win 7 partition via the LINK software, then reboot to Linux partition then the 12 v single rail mode will still operate (in Linux partition), correct? Cheers
Corsair Mike
yes it should hold the single rail setting until you change it.
