KGBinUSA
So I bought an HX850 (CP-9020032-US) from MicroCenter today. Put into my system (i5 3570K @ 4.5Ghz, Gigabyte 7950HD @ 1025 GPU and 1360 GDDR5, 8Gb DDR3 @ 1866, 3 HDDs, 4 120mm Fans), nothing the PSU should not be able to handle. Most of the time the PSU is dead silent, like 99% of the time. But after playing BF3 for an hour or so, the PSU warms up and the fan kicks in. The fan in the PSU does not go from 0% to like 40% or so, it goes straight to 100% for about 10-15 seconds and then shuts off. During those 10-15 seconds, I feel like there is a miniature vacuum cleaner working in my PC...the fan is so loud, that I can hear it even with my headphones on. Is that normal? Or should I be exchanging the PSU for another one?

BB_19
Yeah same issue even though i have a completely different PSU (GS700). Seems like corsair is really not able to build working fan solutions. All forums is full with similar problems. I am really dissapointed, i actually hoped for a high quality product :(
KGBinUSA
http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=115257 Take it back... Im not having the same problem as that person described. My fan turns on once in awhile, but when it does turn on, it goes straight to 100% then the RPMs drop and then it stops once the PSU cooled down. Andi-C
It sounds like the fan controller is faulty, I could be wrong but its not ment to work like that. Your best to return it & try another or get a refund as you've just bought it !
