rventrella Posted October 15, 2018 Share Posted October 15, 2018 Hello, I have a H80i Water Cooler since january 2014 and I am worried about it's lifespan, it's almost completing 5 years and I want to know if I should start looking for a new one ... c-attack Posted October 15, 2018 Share Posted October 15, 2018 Well, the warranty is 5 years so the design and production intention is for it to last that long or Corsair has to give you another. That does not mean it drops dead at 5 yr, 1 day nor does it mean every cooler will absolutely be trouble free. The pump is typically the part that wears down. If you haven't noticed a drop in operating speed or a change in tone, then I don't see any reason to wake up each day worrying. There are quite a few pre-i H80/H100 units still on the job, which is getting up to 7 years or so. If you are already thinking ahead to what size and model you want, then you will be ready whenever that day comes. You can also simply decide it's time for a change on the next case or gear change.
